Welcome to the No Mercy Review for September 24, 2017. For all WWE pay-per-views, I will go over every match, share the highlights and quotes, and look ahead to the next show.

Apollo Crews vs Elias (Elias wins by pin fall)

Elias might be looked on in the very near future as a diamond in the rough. While I was not sold on his gimmick, he has won me over week over week with his arrogance and his athleticism. Putting him against a athlete like Apollo Crews meant that there was a very fast paced and hard hitting match. I did not know who was going to win. After this, Elias should be in the hunt for one of the championships Raw currently holds.

Highlights: Crews attempts to springboard over the ropes, but Elias sweeps his legs out from under him.

Elias mule kicks Crews with a ton of force

Crews spins Elias two full circles with a head lock.

Intercontental Champion The Miz vs. Jason Jordan (Miz wins by pinfall)

It was not his home crowd, but Jason Jordan was about as hot as you could get it. The crowd was loud and totally with him against The Miz. This was a brutal match, with Jordan looking like Kurt Angle’s son all the way. While the ending might disappoint some people, this was the best use of Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. They tried to get involved and were stopped until the final time. Jordan and Miz feels like this is just the beginning of a very entertaining feud.

Highlights: Jordan picks up Miz from a sitting position into a suplex… and holds him vertically for about thirty seconds

Jordan catches Miz’s last It Kick

Finn Bálor vs. Bray Wyatt (Bálor wins by pin fall)

For being a cult like figure, Bray Wyatt has always shown little glimpses of being vicious. This time, Wyatt was an animal, snarling and attacking against Finn Balor. Balor fought back, but this was a very strong Wyatt. These two work so well together that I would love to see a final match with a stipulation, maybe at TLC. A very strong showing from two of the best talent in the WWE.

Highlights: Wyatt attacks Balor before the bell

Wyatt superplexs Balor from the top rope.

Balor traps Wyatt in the ring apron.

Wyatt’s spider walk freezes Balor on the top rope

Balor kicks Wyatt into two ring posts

Quotes: “Run away little coward” Wyatt

Raw Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro and Sheamus (Ambrose and Rollins wins by pin fall to become Tag Team Champions)

This match had everything. Great tag team strategies, hard hitting, and some unbelievable moves. Big props go to Cesaro, who suffered a legitimate injury and kept going. This might be the end of this feud and I want to see more. Seeds might have been planted for Cesaro and Sheamus to break up, and Ambrose and Rollins need to find a new set of opponents. Maybe some Good Brothers?

Highlights: Cesaro swings Ambrose into the steel steps

Rollins slings Cesaro into the turnbuckle so hard Cesaro loses a tooth

The referee gets into Cesaro’s face on multiple occasions.

Cesaro powerbombs Rollins onto Ambrose, and Ambrose kicks out

Ambrose clotheslines Cesaro so hard Amrose flips.

Raw Women’s Champion Alexia Bliss vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley vs. Emma vs. Nia Jax (Bliss wins by pin fall)

This was a fantastic match. Every women brought their A game to a match that should be studied by every wrestler, male or female. Bayley looked sharp as ever, Emma had some great spots,  Sasha Banks was her hard hitting self, and Alexa Bliss was looking for ever opportunity. The star, however, was Nia Jax. Looking like the monster she is, it took ever women to take her down.  Bliss survived Jax, she did not beat her. If Asuka does not come for Bliss, Jax will.

Highlights: Bliss tries a DDT on Jax. Does not end well

Jax double Samoan Drop on Banks and Bliss

All four ladies power bomb Jax onto the floor

Six near falls in a row

Quotes: “You are nothing without me!” Bliss to Jax

John Cena vs Roman Reigns (Reigns wins by pin fall)

This was as close to a Wreastlemania match without being a Wrestlmania match. It started off slow, but the match built as time went on. Both men were able to kick out of each other finishers early, leaving the audience wondering what it was going to take to put the other one down. The moves piles up as the match neared it’s conclusion. With Reigns the winner, might he challenge the winner of the WWE Universal Championship match? And where does Cena go from here?

Highlights: Cena Five Knuckle Shuffle turns in a Reigns Samoan Drop

Both men kick out of each other finishers.

Cena jumps into a Reigns power bomb.

Cena hits an AA off the top rope.

Reigns spears Cena through the announcer table

Two AA’s in a row

Quotes: “We are not on the microphone now” Reigns to Cena

Grade 10 out of 10

Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs Enzo Amore (Enzo wins by pin fall to become Cruiserweight Championship)

Enzo Amore looked like a wrestler and less of a punching bag. He hit some good moves and looked like he belonged in the ring. Neville might not have respected Amore before this match, but he certainly does now. The way that Amore won raises some questions. Is he a heel or an anti heel? And when will Neville evoke his rematch clause? The King of the Cruiserweights might be better prepared next time.

Highlights: Enzo hits a DDt from the top rope

Neville throws Enzo over the barrcade.

Enzo hits a low blow while the referee’s back is turned

Quotes: “You look like Gollum and Frodo had a baby” Amore to Neville

Grade 8 out of 10

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman (Lesnar wins by pin fall)

The only problem with this match was there was no way it could live up to the heat it had started.  Braun Strowman was his usual dominant self, while Lesnar looked confused on what he would have to do. A Komora Lock slowed the Monster Among Men, but it still took an F 5 to put him away. Lesnar must now look for another challenger while Strowman looked human after a long while.

Highlights: The first five minutes are all Strowman

Lesnar suplexs Strowman, Strowman responds with a chokeslam

Six German suplexs by Lesnar

Grade 9 out of 10

Final Thoughts: It was not up to Summerslam’s high goal, but this was a great Pay-Per-View. The Cruiserweight picture looks a lot more interesting and the Tag Team Titles are awaiting a new challenger. Reigns has beaten Cena, so what is next? The women look strong, but who will take the lead to challenge for the Goddess? We will find out tomorrow on Raw.
