Welcome to the TLC Pay-Per-View Review for October 22, 2017. For all WWE pay-per-views, I will go over every match, share the highlights and quotes, and look ahead to the next show.

Sasha Banks vs Alicia Fox (Banks wins by tap out)

This is the best Alicia Fox has looked in months. Any wrestler can act crazy, but there seems to be more to Fox in this incarnation. From dancing while the referee counts Sasha Banks out of the ring, to hitting two very impressive Northern Light suplexs. Fox has always had the skills to be a great wrestler, and it is also credit to Banks for bringing it out. Fox could have a career resurgence if she keeps this up

Highlights: Fox dumps Banks hard onto the ring apron

Fox hits two hard looking kicks

Banks pulls Fox up into the Back stabber and then into the Banks Statement.

Grade: 8 out of 10

Asuka vs. Emma (Asuka wins by tap out)

Two matches in a row, two matches where the challenger came out looking stronger. Asuka winning was never in doubt, but Emma and her had a fantastic match. Emma kept hitting move after move on the Empresses of Tomorrow. Maybe her and Fox can team up in a “we are better then you thought” team. Asuka looked happy to be here, her smile lighting up the arena. This match was just as good as their one in London, and Asuka looks to have a bright future on the main roster

Highlights: Asukua smiles when Emma hits her

Emma throws Asukua hard on to the floor

Asukua suplexs Emma with one of Emma’s legs pinned behind her back

Asukua goes for the Ankle Lock!

Grade 10 out of 10

Cedric Alexander & Rich Swann vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher & The Brian Kendrick (Alexander and Swann wins by pinfall)

This stellar match shows that when you have a story to go along with the action, it is so much better. All four men brought everything they had for this match. There was high flying, expected in the crusierweight divsion, but also some hard hitting offense. The big question is that does this finish the battle between Cedric Alexander and Jack Gallagher

Highlights: Alexander jumps over the top rope onto Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick

Rick Swann hits a beautiful shooting star press.

Kendrick grabs a flying Swann and suplexs outside the ring.

Gallagher has the nasty looking headbutt I’ve seen in awhile

Alexander hits two lumber checks

Grade 10 out of 10

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie James (Bliss wins by pinfall)

Alexia Bliss and Mickie James brought their rivalry to the close in dramactic fashion. Bliss went after James’s shoulder early on, wearing the challenger down. James responded with high flying moves that Bliss could not match. James has shown that she still has a lot to offer the women’s division, hopefully she does not go back into obscruity after this match

Highlights: Slaps from both women turn into punches

Bliss tries a high flying move that ends in disaster

Both women knock each other out

Bliss acts hurt before shoving James into the ring post

Grade 9 out of 10

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto vs. Enzo Amore (Amore wins by pin fall to become the new Cruiserweight Champion)

This was a case of two styles that did not mix well. This is not to say that Enzo Amore and Kalisto are bad wrestlers, far from it, but both men had to change tempo. Amore now looks to his next challenger while Kalistio must decide when and where he will invoke his rematch.

Highlights: Amore hits a DDT from the top rope.

Kalistio mocks Amore’s rooster dance.

Grade: 7 out of 10

“The Demon” Finn Bálor vs. AJ Styles (Balor wins by pin fall)

With less then forty-eight hours to prepare, the two former leaders put on a show stopper. They knew each others moves, even thou they had never fought each other. This is one of those matches you just have to see. At the end, AJ Styles and Finn Balor gave the too sweet gesture to each other. This can happen again and again and I would love every minute of it

Highlights: Counter after counter after counter

Balor breaks the calf cruiser by slamming Stles’s head into the mat

Balor pushes Styles from the top rope to the floor

Balor won’t let the referee count Styles out

Styles runs Balor over the announcer table

Jason Jordan vs. Elias (Jordan wins by pin fall)

All he wanted to do was sing a song. As Elias tried two times through out the night, Jason Jordan kept interrupting him. Once the match started, it was a surprising hard fought affair. Elias might have the power, but Jordan has power and speed. The ending sets up a little bit if intrigue. Was Elias’s shoulders up when the referee counted to three?

Highlights: Jordan throws produce at Elias during his performance.

Jordan flings Elias around the ring like he is nothing

Jordan hits his head hard on the ring post, thanks to Elias

Grade 7 out of 10

Kurt Angle & Raw Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins vs. Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman & Kane (5-on-3 Handicap Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match) (Rollins, Ambrose, and Angle win by pinfall)

This was a train wreck in the very good sense. High spots everywhere as both teams gained and lost momentum. Braun Stowman might be officially a baby face, and might come after The Miz. Cesaro and Sheamus still look like a force to be reckoned with. Kane has not lost one step. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were fired up through the entire match. And Kurt Angle? Yeah, he’s still got it.

Highlights:Angle comes out with a vest on

Ambrose and Rollins both dive from ladders onto Kane and Strowman

Strowman powerslams Angle through a table

No tables seem to break for Ambrose

Kane chockslams Strowman through the stage and pulls a row of chairs on to him.

The Angle Slam looks good as ever

Final Thoughts: Appreciation must be given to the WWE for making this show as good as it was. Get well soon to Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt. This was one of those rare shows where they performance matched the hype. It will be very interesting to see what develops on the next RAW.
