Welcome to the Raw Review for December 4, 2017. For both this and Smackdown, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show.

Talking Points

The Good Son

If Jason Jordan is still being booked as a babyface when the new year rolls around, I will eat my hat. Jordan continued to flirt with the dark side, demanding a match with Roman Reigns and having the commentators mention him pouting. The match was a fantastic one, allowed to go through two commercial breaks. Jordan has the skills to become a major player, he just needs the right character. Reigns was taken to the limit, and then had to fend off a vicious Samoa Joe. When these two properly meet, expect a Match of the Year contender.

The Matriarch

Maybe it was the long time before the Royal Rumble, but the matches were given a good long time to play out. Sasha Banks tried to get revenge for the three on one attack last week by fighting Paige one on one. Backed by their respective allies, the two women had a hard fought battle with some memorable spots. Paige did not look rusty after more then a year away from the ring. Her victory keeps her group at the forefront, with only a few opponents left to stand in her way

The Great War

The thing I was most interested in was how the #WOKEN character that Matt Hardy portrayed would be used by the WWE. There was no time wasted as he interrupted a promo from Bray Wyatt. Speaking in a very strange accent and talking about reading at the library of Alexander, this version is still amazing and worth the wait. The crowd responded loudly the second he appeared on screen. Wyatt now has the perfect character to play off of and this feud could create some memorable moments. If you had no idea who this character was, you must have thought you entered the twilight zone.

Match of the Night

Tag Team Champions Ceasro & Sheamus vs. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins(Tag Team Championship Match) (Ceasro & Sheamus win by pin fall)

This match was not up to their recent classics, but it was still a tremendous match. The Bar seem to find new power moves ever week and Ambrose and Rollins turn up the energy. The first finish saw a DQ, but Kurt Angle restarted the match with no DQ stipulation. It has been a while since I saw  match restarted and I love when it does. This allowed Reigns and Joe to get involved, but also to the Bar pinning Ambrose. We might see another six men match on the horizon.

Conclusion

Long matches and some interesting developments. Drew Gulak won a fast paced match to claim the final spot in a number one contender’s match for the Cruiserweight Title. Speaking on Enzo, he might have a admirer named Nia Jax (“How YOU Doing?”). Braun Stowman and Kane will meet next week to settle their feud. Expect many things to be broken.
