Welcome to the WWE Raw Review for February 5 2018. For both this and Smackdown, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show.
Talking Points
The Madman and the Big Dog
Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns opened the show with a match that would see the winner earn a spot in the Elimination Chamber/ With what happened last week, it was expected that Matt Hardy would show up to repay Wyatt for his own lose. That did not happen, and instead, a hard and physical match occurred. Wyatt was full of a little extra energy, dodging Reigns moves and laughing crazily. Reigns had to fight a lot harder then he probably thought he would. The best move was when Reigns was going for a Superman punch and Wyatt picked him up in a Urinagi. Reigns pinned the Eater of Worlds, but an invested Wyatt is much more interesting.
Women’s Chamber
Kurt Angle announced the women who will be in the Elmination Chamber with Alexia Bliss. He also announced that at the pay per view, Askua will face Nia Jax. If Jax wins, she will be added to the Women’s Championship match at Wrestlemania. Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. Alexia Bliss came out and said that Brock Lesnar does not have to be in the men’s match. She questioned if Angle was treating the men better then the women. Bliss is still in the Chamber, but one has to wonder if this will lead to Lesnar having to enter the men’s match as well. Jax getting the chance to be in Wrestlemania is very interesting, and makes Askua’s streak vulnerable for the first time.
The Last Man
Elias, John Cena and Brawn Strowman fought in a triple threat no DQ match. The winner would be the last man released from the Elimination Chamber. Strowman was the strongest competitor, but Cena and Elias worked together to wear him down. They thought they had eliminated him from the match when Cena did an AA on steel steps. Strowman was not done, and he hit Cena with a running power slam. Elias then threw the Monster Among Men out of the ring and pinned Cena. This was a huge victory for Elias, but will retribution come if Cena and Strowman are waiting for him when his door opens?
Match of the Night
Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus vs Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns (Cesaro & Sheamus win by DQ)
Jason Jordan was not cleared for his and Seth Rollins championship match with The Bar. It looked as if Rollins would have to forfeit, but Roman Reigns volunteered. What followed was a hell of a match, with Rollins flying everywhere in front of his home town crowd. It looked as if the Bar would simply let themselves be counted out, but Jason Jordan blocked their way. A few choice words, and Jordan punched Sheamus. The referee called for the bell, leaving the Shield confused and angry. A lot of different ways this story can unfold. Will Rollins turn on Jordan? Or was Jordan acting selfishly to keep what he perceives as his team together?
Conclusion
Apollo Crews and the Miz fought to get a spot in the Elimination Chamber. The Miz won, leaving one slot to fill. Askua and Bayley had another great match, and The Empress even shook Bayley’s hand after the victory. Next week, we find out who the last man is.
