Those who love Call of Duty will definitely love playing Critical Ops. Critical Ops is a free-to-play FPS game that people can download onto their phone or tablet, available on IOS or Android.
There is a tutorial that is recommended before joining others because the controls can take a moment to get used to. Movement is controlled by an analog button that is on the screen and shooting is done by pressing the gun icon listed on the screen. There is an option to choose whether to be the terrorists or anti-terrorists, auto-assign too if not particular about what side to be on.
There are three types of multiplayer games; defuse, deathmatch, and gun game.
Defuse is a game that is timed, the anti-terrorists are tasked with defusing bombs that are placed by the terrorists. The objective of the terrorists is to make sure they don’t make it to the bombs to defuse them. If the player is killed, they must wait until either side’s players are killed before starting next match.
Deathmatch is also a team-based game, the goal is to take out the other team as many times as possible before the timer runs out. The options for guns on this game is better than defuse because the player is allowed all weapons where defuse lets the character only have a knife and handgun. Players also cannot be killed within the first 3 seconds of re-spawning.
Gun game also places players on teams, but it focuses on how many kills each player obtains. Individual players will receive new weapons after killing the opposing team’s players.
The complaints gamers have is that you don’t get to change your name unless you pay for it. My character was able to skip that by connecting the game to my Facebook. The controls take getting used to, and even if a player isn’t a veteran at FPS games they are still enjoyable.
My Score: 4/5
