Welcome to the WWE Raw Review for May 7, 2018. For both this and Smackdown, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show.

Qualify

The time is now for the Money in the Bank. It looks like no one will just get a spot, it must be earned. Even Braun Strowman had to earn his spot. Kevin Owens also wanted in, so Kurt Angle made the match between them and the winner would be the first man entered the Money in the Bank. Owens got a lot more offensive then was expected. His game plan was not to beat Strowman, but to get him counted out. The Monster was not to be denied, and a power slam sealed the deal. Strowman hitting a running tackle on Owens outside the ring gets more brutal each time. The problem is that Strowman is such a favorite its almost impossible that he wins.

Fighting Champion

Seth Rollins has been on a hot streak in the past few months. He seems to be picking up from the Miz of respecting the Intercontinental Championship and making it the title to want. Rollins has been spectacular as of late, but his opponents have also been on his level. With his open challenge Rollins faced Mojo Rawley and produced a very good match. Rawley has the talent, but he needs someone who can make him look his best. Rollins was that guy and He is quickly going to get a reputation who can have a great match with anyone.

Triple Threat

Roman Reigns must be one of the strongest people on the planet. 24 hours after a disappointing main even, Reigns walked out with his head up. Sami Zayn was a punching bag for both Reigns and Finn Balor. Balor and Zayn teamed up to take down Reigns. A late match attack on Reigns by Jinder Mahl allowed Balor to score the win. Reigns might have to fight Mahl before Brock Lesnar. Having Balor win is the right choice. Fans want him to get his rematch.

Match of the Night

Sasha Banks vs.Ember Moon vs. Ruby Riott (Moon wins by pin fall)

Ember Moon, Sasha Banks and Ruby Riott competed in a triple threat match to see who the first women in the female Money in the Bank would be. This was a hard hitting match with all three women getting the spotlight. Sasha Banks looked to be beat down by the members of the Riott Squad, but Bailey came down to even the score. Ember Moon might be the high-risk taker that the WWE Women have never really had. And Ruby Riott seems to make up moves as she goes along. If Dean Malenko is the Man of 1000 Holds, Ruby is the Women of 1000 Attacks.

Conclusion

Jinder Mahl beat Chad Gable. No Way Jose and Titus Wordwide fell to The Revival and Baron Corbin. Drew McIntyre And Dolph Ziggler destroyed Heath Slater and Rhyno. Zack Ryder and Goldust had some funny cameos. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt beat Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. The next few weeks will start to fill out the rest of the participants.
