Welcome to the WWE Raw Review for July 2 2018. For both this and Smackdown, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show.
Double Duty
After what happened last week, Roman Reigns had two sets of problems to deal with. Bobby Lashley and the Revival and Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. Both problems would collide through out the show. First, the Revival attacked Reigns and Seth Rollins during their match with Ziggler and McIntyre. Reigns tried to go it alone later against the Revival, but the tag team was too much. Lashley asked for the tag, but Reigns continued to shake him off. This led to Lashley walking away as Reigns was beat down. We might actually get the Reigns heel turn, as his ego is starting to become bigger and bigger.
The Good Doctor
Bayley and Sasha Banks had to go to counseling this week, and clips were shown through out the night. Dr Shelby made his return, and the Huggable One and the Boss were asked to follow the 9 tenets of friendship in the friend zone. From Shelby scribbling notes as Bayley talked, to Banks and Bayley imitating each other, this looks like more then just a one off. Dr Shelby has not lost a step and is as funny as ever.
The Constable vs The Club
Baron Corbin came to the ring in order to get an apology from Finn Balor for the way the two broke down in their tag team match. Balor was all smiles as the two traded shots in the form of apologizes. Corbin playing up the boss who justifies everything he does and Balor as the upstart who won’t back down is a good story. Corbin needs to play up his connection with Stephanie McMahon more.
Match of the Night
Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan (Moon wins by pinfall)
Ember Moon will be champion before the year is out. She is too good not to be. The reason this match gets the top spot is how well Liv Morgan handled herself. She actually gave Moon a fight and did not have to count on Sarah Morgan to make it competitive. The Riott Squad can become something special if Morgan is allowed to develop and become a threat to other woman.
Conclusion
Mojo Rawley sucker punched No Way Jose again. Kevin Owens tried to get out of a match with Braun Strowman. Matt Hardy lost to Curtis Axel. The Authors of Pain destroyed Titus Worldwide. Nia Jax beat Mickie James after announcing her match with Alexia Bliss will be an Extreme Rules Match.
