Everyone loves a good download from their favorite game right? Frontier Developments just release a new addition to the fan favorite Planet Coaster game; The Vintage Pack. There’ a lot of nostalgia that goes in to being a part of something fun such as a theme park. Sometimes however, there is a lot of fun to be had in an old time when amusement parks were just getting started.
In this new DLC, Planet Coaster has released the availability of five near rides and two coasters. This isn’t all of course. Frontier Developments also worked hard to release new building panazz such as props, light, scenery, classic architecture and interactive vending machines. The new machines are worth the download alone. Only the addition of a barbershop quartet and trapeze artists can top this. The more entertainment the better!
Not everyone will understand the excitement of such as download since these are all items that would have been in the public as far back as the 1920s. In your park, guests will be able to be in the middle of the past and you get to create it all the way you want to make the feeling come alive. One of the best parts is that guests can interact with machines such as the fortune teller Zoltan! Also, who doesn’t love a gumball machine or some popcorn? These are two more additions for the guests of the park that are classics.
All of the rides and esthetic have an aged charm. For example, the old light box lettering can be put in to the park for a classic feeling. Couple this with other lighting and viola, you now have a park that is reminiscent of places like the Santa Monica Pier and the Boardwalk. With the ability to add of these things as well and their rusted charm, Planet Coaster can now become eerily like the past and a lot like a county fair too. This doesn’t seem to be an idea people put together but in the past everyone pitched in to make an experience, not necessarily a “look” and that’s the best part.
Many of the rides featured in the Planet Coaster-Vintage Pack DLC are still seen today. From wooden roller coasters to the Ferris Wheel and the Hurricane. The next time a carnival comes around to your town, check out the rides a little closer and see if you can figure out what era they are from, and also check out this new download, the rides are totally worth it!
