Welcome to the WWE Raw Review for July 23 2018. For both this and Smackdown, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show.
Evolution
Vince McMahon, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were in the center of the ring as the addressed almost the entire NXT and WWE roster who were gathered on stage. Triple H spoke about how proud they were of every superstar. He then asked the ladies to step forward. Stephanie traced the history of the women’s revolution and announced that on October 29th, the woman will have the own pay-per-view called Evolution. This was amazing and WWE really made it special by having everyone there to hear it.
Everything
Braun Strowman came to the ring and said that it did not matter who won at Summerslam, as he would cash in to become champion. This brought out a injured and slightly deranged Kevin Owen. What happened next was a masterpiece of a promo, as Owens talked about how his kids are now afraid for him after what happened at Extreme Rules. He vowed to take everything from Strowman. This might come to pass as Owens and Strowman will meet at Summerslam with the winner getting the Money in the Bank briefcase. IT might just come to pass and Owens could get his revenge.
Entrapment
Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns faced off to see who would fight Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. This was not as fast paced as their match at Extreme Rules, but the stakes and the last few minutes aped up the energy. With the pin by Roman Reigns, we will see if the crowd is more behind him as the way to get the title of Lesner. As for Lashley, his lat few matches have been impressive and I hope WWE gives him something for Summerslam.
Match of the Night
Seth Rollins and Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre (Balor and Rollins win by pinfall)
This match started with Finn Balor taking on Drew McIntyre. After Dolph Ziggler interfered, Seth Rollins made the save. The match was restarted as a tag team match and that’s when things really started to cook. Balor and Rollins would make one hell of a tag team as their styles meshed perfectly. This got a “This is Awesome” chant from the crowd and I could not agree more
Conclusion
Mojo Rawley beat Tyler Breeze in a rematch. Titus Worldwide got one back on the Authors of Pain. Liv Tyler fell to Ember Moon. Bayley and Sasha defeated some local talent. The B-Team beat the Deleter of Worlds, but was attacked after the match. Mickie James beat Natalya.
