Capcom has been favoring the blue Bomber lately and giving gamers alike a fun collection to add to their list of must haves. Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 on the switch is giving fans a chance to go back, and in some cases play better versions, of what they know and love. Not only are their two Mega Man Legacy Collection on the Nintendo Switch, but Capcom also announced the release of Mega Man 11 planned for sometime later this year.

Somewhere in the middle is our Mega Man X Legacy Collection which focuses on the futuristic vibes of our hero. Now, not every game will be the best to everyone but Capcom has done a decent job at balancing the collection. For sure, this collection will be one that fans shouldn’t go without.

The collection spans across two release which consist of Mega Man X through X4 for Legacy Collection 1 and the goes in to X5 through X8 for Legacy Collection 2. Most of the games are covered here as far as core gaming goes, so for retro lovers, there is more than enough to work with.

Some have said that the games were difficult, which is true to an extent, but even as a replay, the Rookie Mode can be used to help. This is especially nice for younger players because they can relax and enjoy the experience versus others that didn’t get that chance. With this mode, it’s nice to see the Rookie option as an extra. For anyone wanting to be a bit extra and over-the-top because they can’t get enough of a challenge, the X Challenge Mode is where the party is.

Specifically the X Challenge Mode allows players to jump in to a two boss fight while maintaining your own health at the same time. Luckily, players get to bring up to three weapons to the fight making things a bit more bareable. As an added bonus too, there are now online leader boards which is a new take on a retro classic. Very nice touch.

Fun other stuff in the collection too for the more tech savvy, is the ability to mess with the visuals so the game as a whole looks crisper. And who wouldn’t want the option for a museum? The Museum gives players the ability to look at behind the scenes artwork, music and merchandise which is neat. At about $20 USD per collection, the expense isn’t too hard to handle and may be a better option for new players compared to buying everything all at once. Luckily the Switch has the different options for whatever you choose.

There is so much to get in to when it comes to the Mega Man X Legacy Collection as a whole. A lot of extras such as the visual tweaking, the achievements and modes to play with. Anyone that likes the game either as a new player or a retro player, should definitely add this game to their stock and enjoy it.
