On a small tour straight from England, the popular and ever-so-friendly JackSepticEye graced Denver with his tour called How Did We Get Here? With little information to go on about what the show would be featuring, the need to not miss this opportunity had me in chains. As a fan of the YouTube gaming channel that Jack grown over the years, this was probably the only opportunity to get to see him locally. The best part, without spoilers, is the positivity that Jack brings with him everywhere he goes.
With a title such as How Did We Get Here? , many questions come to mind. Why would Jack be using the word “we”? The next biggest question is, “Where is he going with this?” Since Jack is very down to earth, and extremely funny, the context was hard to determine. Somehow the conclusion became that there was a serious message among the laughter that Jack brings to everyone.
Set in the famous Paramount Theater in Denver Colorado, there weren’t many bells and whistles and the venue was cozy and packed with fans. Lines to get in wrapped down the block and around the corner! Everyone was very energetic and all walks of life came which was a breath of fresh air. The fact that we all were there to enjoy this human is incredible, but we all also had a hard time describing who Jack is to the random passerby.
When the show began the energy was loud, crazy, energetic and exciting. Luckily Jack was just as excited as we were to be there together. A good message that was brought to the forefront right away with the audience was that we needed to put our phones away and just enjoy the moment. This didn’t stop photo shenanigans of course asked for by Jack himself.
As the night progressed there was audience involvement through cheering and audible positivity. No audience member that was called on went unnoticed. Everyone was chanted for, given respect when talking and so much more. At no point did anyone look as if they had been pushed off stage too soon. Compared to other shows and acts, this was a first. Video games were played too, including one many though was gone for good.
Jack graced us with parts of his history, most of which we knew, and a lot that we didn’t. Even though these memories are funny and very real, it was the messages throughout the night that made the biggest impact. If you’ve ever wanted to laugh and be brought to a subtle feeling of tears due to your mind finally realizing the message, this show is for you.
Even when dealing with stress and other issues that we as humans deal with in our own lives, Jack has found a way to bring his love of gaming, his loud and funny personality and his positive messages together. In the end, we all found out exactly how we got here, and that’s the best part.
