Welcome to the WWE Raw Review for September 10, 2018. For both this and Smackdown, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show.
From the Crowd
Braun Strowman has now become a partner with the rest of the heels in the Raw locker room. Calling Drew Mcintryre and Dolph Ziggler his Dogs of War, Strowman said that because Roman Reigns has the Shield, he had to do this. The Shield came from the crowd and proceeded to beat all of the heels surrounding the ring with axe handles. It seemed that Baron Corbin had one up on them, but some quick thinking got Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose a Tag Team Title Shot at Hell in the Cell.
Anarchy, Agony and Destruction
Kevin Owens did not even wait for the bell to attack Tyler Breeze. With Prince Pretty on the ground, Owens grabbed a microphone and proceeded to cut one hell of a promo. Saying that he was brought back with the ability to do whatever he wanted, Owens set his sight on Bobby Lashley. This Owens is more deranged with light on the comedy and more on being a destroyer. Owens could go mighty far if he keeps this up.
20 Years
Elias was in the ring when the sound of broken glass echoed through the arena. Mick Foley came to the ring and what happened was a little unexpected and a whole lot awesome. Foley gave an impassioned promo about his HITC match twenty years ago. There was little comedy. As it went on, the realization that it was not Foley, but Cactus Jack began to dawn on people. This was one of those promos where you were shaking watching it. Foley, or Jack, said that at HIAC, he would be the referee for the Raw main event. Just a fantastic segment.
Match of the Night
Rhonda Rousey and Natalya vs. Alexia Bliss and Mickie James (Rousey and Natalya win by submission)
While Rhonda Rousey has an air of badass about her, the question is can she tell a story in the ring. This match should be the example when you tell people she can. Rousey was beaten and put on the ground and she looked incredible for the whole match. The story line of Alexia Bliss attacking her ribs and putting a dent in the Baddest Woman on the Planet’s armor will make their match on Sunday much more uncertain.
Conclusion
Nikki Bella beat the Ruby Riott . Bobby Roode and Chad Gable destroyed the Accession. . Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler held on against the B Team. The Authors of Pain beat some local talent. Finn Balor beat Elias
