As the sports season gets in to full swing, one of the most anticipated games has finally released. That game, NBA 2K19 from the Visual Concepts team. As the rabbit hole goes deeper with these sports games, new features have been added as well as our favorite players too.

Depending on which release of the game you got (the 20th Anniversary Edition specifically) then you got a hold of the game on September 7th compared to everyone else that got their copies September 11th. No matter which copy you got however, they are both amazing.

Since the company always out does itself every year, we could only expect great things. This time around one of the biggest features that was upgraded was the Neighborhood. Now you can build yourself in the streets, at live events at any time day or night. The new day and night cycle brings whole new vibe, you can even walk on at the Jordan Rec Center. This is more open world compared to other games in the series.

As a basketball fan, no matter the team, one of the best things is that we as people see how the game unfolds. This includes all of the gritty interactions, steals and more. So why wouldn’t this be common in the game as well? Now, those same actions are. There is now a real risk of getting the ball stolen if you get too close to others and passes still apply. The difference however, is the seamless motion it takes to pass the ball and the ability to activate the team’s abilities throughout. Not only can you play for yourself, but you can also be very specific about who is guarding the paint, and where everyone else is going to go. Surprisingly, this is as real as it can get.

Not only are these minor things brought to the surface in NBA 2K19, but the commentary is as well, and the music. The soundtrack is fabulous and probably worth buying on its own if it’s ever an option. The other elements however like the commentary, is spot on. There are no off guard mishaps in the voice patterns and whatever the developers did to make this happen, thank you. No one wants to hear the same things over and over again either.

For the hardcore players, characters will gain new abilities, special moves and more like the Team Takeover feature. New modes to, let players take advantage of their team play, so there’s not a lot this game doesn’t offer. No matter which edition of the game you got, or will chose to get, play boldly.
