Welcome to the Smackdown Review for September 25, 2018. For both this and Raw, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show

Talking Points
Truth Tv

With fall official, we got a debut of a new show. Brought to you by R-Truth and Carmella, Truth Tv is a show were the hard questions are asked, provided it does not interfere with a dance break. Their first guest was Daniel Bryan, who appreciated how groundbreaking this show was. The fun time was over when Miz came out. Talking about his rivalry with Bryan, Miz said that Bryan could never do what needs to be done, even if it is underhanded. This was probably the most fun segment of the night while also planting the idea that Bryan might have to go to a dark place to beat the Miz.

Milwaukee

Why did Aiden English betray Rusev? That was the question that Rusev and Lana wanted to know. English came out and said that it was Lana who got in their way. He showed some of the highlights of his and Rusev’s partnership. Lana also reminded English that she had brought him to greatness as well. The crowd was chanting for Rusev and Lana. The mood changed when English said that Lana was not honest with Rusev, especially about a night in Milwaukee. While most seem to think this is about a romance, I think the truth is that Lana did not believe in Rusev Day

Where is the Challenger

The contract was signed for their match at Super Show Down. There will be no question after this if Samoa Joe or AJ Styles deserves to wear the gold. Joe at first did not even show up, playing a few mind games with Styles. Styles said that if he wasn’t here, he knew where he would be. Joe suddenly appeared on the screen, showing he was at Styles home. As Syles pleaded, Joe rang the doorbell and said “Daddy’s home”. Cut to black. Chilling.

Match of the Night

R-Truth vs. The Miz (Miz wins by pin fall)

Truth may be some new for of life as he has not lost a step. This match went on for awhile and he never looked out of step or shape. Miz brought his usually intensity to the match, but the end was the most important thing. Looking at Bryan who was on commentary, Miz used his future opponent’s move to win the match. Bryan talked about how Miz cheats to win, but his face at the end makes it seem that he must become something else to get a shot at the Championship.

 Conclusion

Becky Lynch beat Lana. Askua and Naomi beat Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Sheamus beat Big E. Randy Orton has found a new victim in Ty Dillinger.
