Welcome to the Raw review for October 29, 2018. For this and Smackdown, I will go over the talking points and pick the match of the night.
The Champion
Now that Roman Reigns is not champion anymore, all eyes turn to Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. Making a rare Raw appearance, Lesnar was actually cheered by a fair amount of the crowd. Paul Heyman said that Lesnar would win and that was a spoiler. Strowman came out, but he didn’t attack Lesnar. Instead, he planted Baron Corbin three times with a running powerslam. This left him wide open for an F-5. This match at Crown Jewel could go either way.
Walk With Elias
Elias slid one week removed from his babyface turn into the role of hero very easily. He now pays tribute to the town’s hero and writes songs about his opponent. Elias could go straight to the top as this role has the sky as the limit. Wanting to play Corbin his newest hit, he was attacked by Jinder Mahl. A match followed and Elias won. Seeing where he goes with this is going to be a very fun ride.
Silence
Why did Dean Ambrose attack Seth Rollins? Everyone wanted to know, none more than Rollins himself. Coming to the ring, Rollins questioned if his own actions four years ago brought Ambrose to the edge. Ambrose came out of the crowd, but did not say anything. This enraged Rollins, who called him a coward and lunatic. Ambrose turned and walked out. The reason can be delayed, but we need an answer to get this story going.
Match of the Night
Lita, Trish, Bayley, Sasha and Natalia vs. The Riott Squad, Alicia Fox, and Mickie James (Lita, Trish Sasha and Natalia win by submission)
One night removed from Evolution, ten of the women competed in a huge tag match. The introduction of Lita and Trish suggests that their match was not a one off. All of the women went full throttle after everything that happened. Evolution was a great first step, but the women deserve more chances and more spots to shine.
Conclusion
Bobby Lashley lost to Finn Balor, but was added to the World Cup in place of Cena. Nia Jax beat Ember Moon with some help from Tamina. Ziggler beat Apollo Crews. Roode and Gable beat AOP and the Ascension. The Revival lost to Luca House Party.
