Welcome to the Smackdown Review for November 13, 2018. For both this and Raw, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show
Talking Points
The Man
Becky Lynch suffered a terrible injury to her face and also a concussion on Raw. The news came out that she would be unable to compete at Survivor Series. The two big questions were would she be stripped of her title and who would face Rhonda Rousey this Sunday. Thankfully, Lynch would hold on her title and she would pick who would face Rousey. The choice was Charlotte. While this might seem surprising given their recent history, This will allows Lynch to come back on as the babyface we all wanted. Lynch vs. Rousey? That can be saved for another time and a grander stage.
Friction
While Raw has provided a much more put together team, Smackdown seems on the verge of collapse. Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles came to blows, with a little help from Paul Heyman. The Miz let the fact that he is know sole captain go to his head, trying to kick Rey Mysterio off the team. This led to a match between them. The only group that seems to be on the same page is the Tag Team, as The Uso recruited, Sanity and Anderson and Gallows to their team. Smackdown better get together quick or Raw is going to win again.
A Broken Heart
Shinsuke Nakamura was in a gloomy mood. He had seen the clip of Seth Rollins saying that he did not care about their match at Survivor Series, focused on Dean Ambrose. Nakamura was hurt, admitting that he had thought of nothing except Rollins. He said that Rollins had broken his heart, so he would break his face. This seemed like something Goldust would say back in the day, and this might be an interesting trait for Nakamura to keep going forward with.
Match of the Night
Dainel Bryan vs. AJ Styles (Bryan wins by pin fall to become the new WWE Champion )
The announcement of this match was surprising, but it made sense after the way it played out. Bryan has been exhibiting more and more heel tendencies as of late, and this was the next step. The match itself was fantastic, the anticipation of these two fighting was actually realized. Bryan vs Brock Lesnar is a match I would very much like to see. And this new Bryan.
Conclusion
Randy Orton tried to attack Mysterio after his match. Cien fell to Jeff Hardy. The Bar and Big Show stopped the New Day
