Noble Muffins and PlayWay S. A. have delivered a new indie game called Thief Simulator now available on PC. Somewhat like thief games that time your collecting, Thief Simulator brings a more realistic approach to the life of a thief. With a positive review, many players have gained some experience in what it takes to be a proper thief.

Released on November 9th, 2018, this indie, action and stealth simulator makes players go above and beyond on their thieving abilities. Players must stake out their targets, learn to sell what they have collected and a lot more. One of the interesting things to note in the game is the limited inventory you, the thief, can carry. There is no such thing as an unlimited storage space so the items that are stolen must be worthy even if you didn’t grab much.

A few of the mechanics in the game include stealing what is valuable, picking locks and using the internet and local stores to sell stolen merchandise to make money. So, the setup is actually really realistic. Not only that but the protagonist, you, have to watch the homes of the victims before making a plan to break in. The thief has skills in cutting glass, smashing windows and a lot more. For anyone wondering about repercussion, the thief must also hide when the cops are hot on the trail.

In the balance of the game, stealing can and most likely will get you caught. So as a game, the threat isn’t very realistic. The only problems that could be real, are the people that see that proper planning in real life could reward you with real money and other items. Luckily, the game could have used some more finesse before being released so this could break the realistic effect Thief Simulator has on the mind.

Right now, the game is short with “only” about 12 hours of gameplay. Also, the map is very limited and the abilities and upgrades are few. It is unclear if the developers will release a larger map and more stores to interact with. Graphically, however, the game is very realistic to look at. Mechanically the controls are simple to use and menus are uncluttered keeping the players focused on just what they need to do.

Overall, Thief Simulator can be fun to play. Gameplay is simple as it teaches the players to think realistically about theft. Maybe in the future, the developers will create additional content to make this game better. Hopefully, players won’t look too far into the content and just enjoy the concept. Thief Simulator currently costs $16.99 USD
