There are some games that are burned into your memory. For me, it was The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I played that game so many times that I can see areas in my mind. The reason why I mention this is that when I saw Time Wander, I immediately thought of A Link to the Past. Timeless Games are creating an adventure that covers many different time periods as one woman looks to save the human race.
Corina is from the future, a future where the Earth has been taken over by a reptilian alien race known at the Ro’tuls. Her father decides that the only chance mankind has is to send Corina into the past in order to warn people that the invasion is coming. The machine does not work correctly and Corina is sent back to different times periods. She will discover that the Ro’tules might have been here longer then anyone suspected. Corina must way a way to get back to the right moment in history while not changing the past.
This overhead RPG has a lot of heart to it. Corina has many different skills she can use to solve problems and defeat enemies. The idea of a puzzle is the main focus of the game, as battles also have many different ways to win. Corina can upgrade certain skills as she continues on her way home. This allows the player to play the game the way they want. The most interesting feature is the “CHAOS SYSTEM”, which can increase if Corina does not make the right decisions. This game has a infiltrate or destroy storyline. This will make you go back and replay levels to see how things can turn out differently.
The art style and the music are cute, but also detailed. The level I got to play put me in Thebas (Egypt) in the 15th century B.C. The text was only in Spanish (don’t worry the developers want to make English text as well) but the game did a fantastic job of letting me know visually what I should do. The controls and the battle systems were smooth. the only regret was that I only got to play one level. I wanted and needed more.
The game is currently on Kickstarter and I believe we will lose a great game if it is not funded. There is plenty of time to donate and the link to support it will be included below. The adventures of Corina through time is a fun and interesting adventure. I can’t wait to see where or when she pops up next.
