Welcome to the Smackdown Review for December 11, 2018 For both this and Raw, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show

Talking Points
Rap Battle

Rap battles are mostly silly. They are a tension breaker before a big match. With The New Day, The Bar and the Usos, things were better then most. The Bar played up their uncool image with a rap that was..something. But the second the Usos took the microphone, it was time to battle. Referencing everything from Sheamus in TMNT to Cesaro having his teeth knocked out by the turnbuckle, The Usos were the straight winners.

Best in the World

I am trying to see where the storyline between Shane McMahon and the Miz is going. I thought that Miz was trying to set him up for something, but then Miz plays on Shane’s heartstrings. This rather odd journey had Miz hiring some local talent for Shane to beat in a match. Not a beatdown for Shane, but an ego boost? The person who is not happy is Paige, who got to go straight up savage on the referee and the local talent.

Rematch

This almost certainly would have gotten match of the night if the winner was one we had never seen before. The storyline of Askua wanting to avenge her loss to Charlotte is a great one that should have been referenced a lot more. Not as good as their Wrestlemania match, but a damn close second. Sunday is going to be awesome.

Match of the Night

Did you ever think you would see this match?
Daniel Bryan vs. Mustafa Ali (Bryan wins by submission)

A match that most of us thought we would never get to see, with Ali being on 205 live. Bryan and Ali were perfect as they went fast and hit high flying moves. How on fire was this match? Ali was doing a Spanish Fly during the commercial break. Bryan looked like a complete scumbag and Ali lost nothing in defeat. Give us an Iron Man match with these two, I beg you.

 Conclusion

Jeff Hardy and Rusev beat Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura. Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio will meet on Sunday in a chairs match.
