Welcome to the Raw review for January 14, 2019. For this and Smackdown, I will go over the talking points and pick the match of the night.

The Price

It seems that Braun Strowman is not yet ready to compete. The angle of getting him off television was a smart one. Strowman attacked Baron Corbin and damaged Vince’s limo. Refusing to apologize, Vince pulled him from the match. He then announced that Finn Balor, John Cena, Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre would compete to see who would face the Beast at the Royal Rumble

New Toys

The call-ups from NXT began to make appearances in and out of the ring. Nikki Cross got in the ring, destroying the Riott Squad in the process. Lacey Evans was talking to Mickie James and Dana Brooke. The funnest appearance was Heavy Machinery interrupting a moment of Bliss. There will soon be a new championship as well, as The Women’s Tag Team Titles will be decided at the Elimination Chamber.

Finn

I wrote just last week that Finn Balor was gearing up for a big run. First, he had to beat Jinder Mahl to make it to the Fatal Four way. Then he had to surive being the smallest man in the match. Balor took everyone and even got the pin on Cena. Afterwards, Cena praised him. Balor vs. Brock should be one hell of a match and don’t be surprised if Balor manages to come out on top.

Match of the Night
Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley (Lashley wins by pinfall to become the new Intercontinental Champion)

Covering pro wrestling, there is a tendency to become numb to the matches and nothing can surprise you. This was one of those matches where the ending was shocking. Lashley is too talented to not have a championship and this one is a first for him. Ambrose and Rollins might have to settle on bigger game if they want gold

Conclusion

Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey beat Nia Jax and Tamina. The Revival upped their game to beat Lucha House Party.
