Welcome to the Raw review for February 4 2019. For this and Smackdown, I will go over the talking points and pick the match of the night.
Suspended
Becky Lynch was invited by Stephanie McMahon to appearance on Raw, but did Steph have an interior motive for inviting the Man. Steph brought up the injury that Lynch is dealing with and said that she had still not gone to the doctor. Lynch played coy, but Steph said that Lynch is suspended until she does. This set the Man off, who attacked Stephanie. Later, Lynch was escorted out by security, but stopped for Ronda Rousey. Rousey made their match at Wrestlemania about something bigger, the perfect angle to play.
The Women
Something that I like for the past few weeks is that the women are getting their own story lines. He does not have to be who is chasing belts. For example, Dana Brooke was yelling at Natalya for what she perceived to be a lack of respect. Getting a match for next week, Brooke failed to notice that Natalya was wearing earbuds and could not hear her. Simple, yet effective
Ambrose at the Microphone
With the stories circling around Dean Ambrose, I was very curious how he would be portrayed. Interrupting a moment of Bliss with guest EC3 and party crashers Nia Jax and Tamina, Ambrose just went off. From telling Jax that she had a crush on him to “interviewing” EC3 ( “Where are EC1 and EC2) Ambrose was at his lunatic best. A short match and loss with EC3 followed, but Ambrose just needs more of this type of energy on the microphone.
Match of the Night
Finn Balor vs. Lio Rush (Balor wins by pin fall)
Lio Rush might annoy you on the microphone, but there is no doubt that the man has got skills. Finn Balor was the perfect opponent for him, and the two had a match that was fast paced and fun. It was also something we had not seen and that gave it a little something extra. Balor looks to becoming for Intercontinental gold.
Conclusion
Elias fell to Jeff Jarrett and Road Dog. The Revival beat four other teams for a Tag Team Title Shot. Bayley and Sasha Banks are in the Tag Team Championship match. Rousey beat two out of three members of the Riott Squad. Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin won by DQ to Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman
