Simulator games are a mixed bag. Sometimes they go from utterly insane (Grass Simulator) to some of the most realistic things ever (Farming Simulator). Where does PC Building Simulator, from Claudiu Kiss and The Irregular Corperation rank? It’s sort of in a class by itself which is a lot of fun and you learn something as well.
The goal of PC is simple. You are just starting out as a business and people will send you their computers in order for you to fix. The problems range from installing a new graphics card to completely reworking a PC. As you finish jobs, you get more money in order to build your dream machine. You can also just work on it by itself. One of the best features is that the game developers have partnered with real companies to use their products. You can determine if Intel is better ASUS for example.
I started out as a computer novice. I once bought an HP and then didn’t understand when I couldn’t upgrade it. I have improved, but I am not a master. That’s where the third part of this game comes into play. It teaches you what goes where and what’s it’s function. The terms used are simple enough that a newbie won’t get lost and an experienced person will not get bored. You can spend hours creating the best computer and trying to make it be faster without breaking one of the components.
If you like customization, this game is for you. Everything from skins to lights are available in a million different combinations. I spent about thirty minutes trying to pick the best lights for my computer. This game will eat up your time, make no mistake about that.
PC Building Simulator is that rare game where you take a lot more out of it then you think. When I look at computer parts, I have a better understanding what will work and what won’t. It’s a little sad that I can’t make my computer real, but in game my perfect PC exists. Have fun, learn a thing or two and be prepared to spend a lot of time on this game.
