Welcome to Elimination Chamber for February 17, 2019. For all WWE pay-per-views, I will go over every match, share the highlights and look ahead to the next show.
WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy vs. Akira Tozawa (Murphy wins by pinfall)
Tozawa and Murphy fought each other for the first time ever. Tozawa used his speed, as a strengh contest would have made this a very short match. These two just feed off each other, bringing more moves to a surprisingly even slug fest at the end. The crowd was chanting and shouting the whole time. Murphy won, but this was a close as he had come to losing the belt.
Highlights Murphy picks up Tozawa in mid air
Tozawa counters a powerbomb into a hurricanranna from the top rope.
Murphy hits about three moves in about five seconds
Tozawa uses his body to slam Murphy on the ropes. Murphy hits the quickest Murphy’s Law I have ever seen

The Elimination Chamber Match to crown the first-ever Women’s Tag Team Champions (Bayley and Sasha Banks win by pinfall to become the New Tag Team Champions)
Tag team wrestling in the chamber is a perfect fit. Adding teams allows moves to be done that we would not normally see. Nia Jax and Taminia were portrayed as the threat they are. The IIconics were comic relief. Carmella and Naomi were the athletes. The Riott Squad brought the chaos. Bayley and Banks were the underdogs. Banks and Bayley winning is the right choice and this new tag team division is off to a great start.
Highlights: Bayley hits a neckbreaker on Rose while her leg is stuck in the fence.
The Riott Squad, Fire and Desire and Bayley in a Tower of Doom move
Carmella hits a hurricannrana from the middle of the cage.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Miz & Shane McMahon vs. The Usos (The Usos win by pinfall to become the New Tag Team Champions)
After the announcement that Mis is expecting a new baby, two tag teams went at it. The Usos were playing the heel in this match. They were hard hitting, barely giving Shane and the Miz a moment to breath. Shane and Miz never looked like they didn’t belong in this match. The Usos winning was a shock, and the fact that Miz was the one who took the fall should play out in the next coming weeks.
Highlights: Jimmy hits Miz with his own running kick.
Shane’s coast to coast is always impressive.
Shane tries a second and jumps into a superkick from Jay.
Miz jumps from the top rope
Shane hits an elbow through a table.
Grade: 9 out of 10
Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush vs. Finn Bálor (Handicap Match)(Bálor wins by pinfall to become the New Intercontinental Champion)
The fact that Rush could win the Intercontinental Championship in this match changed the complexity of it. Finn Balor went after Rush, wisely avoiding the power of Lashley. Lashley handled Balor, but Rush would prove to be the deciding factor. Balor pinning him was a shocking moment. The fact that the crowd cheered for Lashley as he dropped Rush should not go unnoticed.
Grade: 7 out of 10
Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Ruby Riott (Rousey wins by submission)
Rousey came out dressed as Sonya Blade. The match was very quick. The real story was after. Charlotte came into the ring to confront Rousey when Lynch came through the crowd on crutches. She attacked the Queen and offered her to Rousey. She quickly turned on Rousey and attacked her until security removed her. This storyline is getting hotter ever week.
Grade: 8 out of 10 (Story)
Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin (No Disqualification Match) (Corbin wins by pinfall)
Baron Corbin used the No DQ stipulation to his advantage against Brawn Strowman. After taking a beating, Corbin called in his old buddies Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley to destroy Strowman. Strowman fought, but the three were too much. Strowman is going to have to find some friends to even the odds.

Grade: 7 out of 10
WWE Champion “The New” Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton vs. Samoa Joe (Elimination Chamber Match) (Bryan wins by pinfall)
Not in my wildest dreams did I think that that Kofi would go the distance he did. Samoa Joe looked amused when Bryan tried to kick and chop him. Styles hit some incredible moves. Orton had a great RKO. Hardy got some big moves. This was about Kofi going for a very long time after it was just him and Bryan. Bryan won, I knew he would, but Kofi made me believe that he could pull it out
Highlights: THE WHOLE DAMN MATCH!!
Grade: 10 out of 10
Final Thoughts: A great beginning and ending. Please let Kofi ride some of this momentum somewhere.
