Welcome to the Raw review for March 4 2019. For this and Smackdown, I will go over the talking points and pick the match of the night.
One More Time
Roman Reigns had a request of Seth Rollins to kick off the show. Rollins, and the WWE Universe, thought that he wanted a shot at Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. Reigns had other ideas, as he asked Rollins to bring Dean Ambrose back and reform the Shield. Rollins was hesitant, but finally agreed. Ambrose was a little trickery, pushing past such talk. It took an attack by Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley to bring the Lunatic back to the fold. The Shield is back, probably for the last time.
Look Me in the Eyes
There was nothing flashy about Triple H as he came to the ring to address the attack on Flair last week by Batista. This was an old time fire and brimstone type of promo, short on catch phrases but long on real fire. Calling back to all the time he and Flair had spent together, Triple H dared Batista to show up next week. Saying this was not about characters or selling some story line, Triple H made you believe what he was saying.
The New Champion
Stephanie McMahon decided that Becky Lynch and Charlotte would meet on Sunday and the winner would be the new Raw Women’s Champion. At the contract signing, Ronda Rousey showed up and cut probably her best promo in WWE. Rousey got back the title and if Lynch wins Sunday she will be added to the main event at Wrestlemania. Saying that she was done pretending, Rousey attacked Lynch and not a soul believed that she was not trying to hurt her. This is the Rousey we want, full of venom and willing to destroy anyone.
Match of the Night
Finn Balor, Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley (McIntyre, Corbin and Lashley win by pinfall)
These six men have fought before, but they turned it up for a hot Philadelphia crowd. Angle looked great, giving German suplexs out like he was having a sale on them. Strowman had the moment of the night when he ran through Lio Rush and the barricade around the ring. Even tho the winners will face the Shield on Sunday, it seems like their previous issues are not done yet.
Conclusion
Tamina defeated Sasha Banks. Heavy Machinery ran the gauntlet and won The Revival beat Aleister Black and Ricochet by DQ when they were attacked by Bobby Roode and Chad Gable. Natalya beat Ruby Riott.
