In the basis of reality, the Danganropa Trilogy from Spike and NIS America feels insane. This set of visual novel games will excite your mind and lead you to some very interesting situations. With every game using different characters, the only center point is the  Monokuma the crazy bear.

This trilogy is three games in one place, Trigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair and Killing Harmony. The set is still rated mature 15+ because of the blood, violence, nudity and language but the game didn’t bother me too much personally. There’s a lot to do in these games besides kill people.

For the Hope’s Peak Academy students, their prestige isn’t enough to keep them from turning on one another. Throughout the trilogy, students will explore, examine and talk to everyone. When a murder takes place it’s up to you to figure it out. When Monokuma shows up to shake up your world, the real party starts. Sometimes you will need to make choices that could end up hurting someone else. Once you’re close enough to answer, the trial begins.

Although all of the games haven’t changed, the developers boast more puzzles, faster trials and a bunch of students that have unique backgrounds, such as being an astronaut. With every choice made or inquiry, more secrets are revealed which leads to a bigger understanding. Consider this game like the Ace Attorney series. You need all of the information before making a judgment against someone.

The color palette has always been great to look at. You get a great view of the characters and the game keeps you pulled in to the plot. Just be ready to take charge of your situation, and make sure you’re right!
