It’s been seven years since Borderlands 2 and five years since Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Gearbox dropped a trailer for the next installment.
What are we to expect from Borderlands 3? Here is what we know so far.
The new baddies
There are many new characters shown in the recent trailer for Borderlands 3, among them is the Calypso Twins. It is rumored that they are both Sirens but males are not known for having those types of powers. That may change in this game. From the trailer, we could see a group running past them likely towards the protagonists of the game. Who knows what these two have in store for the vault hunters in the game but fans are for sure that it will be full of explosions and fun!
New Vault Hunters
Each vault hunter has special skills. Amara is a Siren and much like the ones in the previous games she wields a lot of power. Flak or Fl4k is a hunter but also can command beasts hence the title beastmaster. Zane is much like Zero from Borderlands 2 as he has a decoy device that helps him in battle. Moze has a mech that assists called the Iron Bear, which other characters can hop onto and use its turrets.
More details on what the story involved has yet to be revealed.
Old Characters are Back!
As you can see Tiny Tina is all grown up now and just as awesome and crazy as ever! Other returning characters are:
- Brick
- Claptrap
- Ellie
- Lady Aurelia
- Lillith
- Marcus
- Maya
- Mordecai
- Moxxi
- Rhys
- Sir Hammerlock
- Tannis
- Zero
As you can see characters from Tales from The Borderlands and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be involved!
Guns Galore…and a gun with legs?!
Nothing should surprise players of this series as stranger things have happened in the series. How cool is it that there is a gun with legs?! Is it a companion, or one that is equipped that the player can set off? Either way, fans want to get their hands on it!
Thoughts
There are some people who weren’t too impressed with the trailer but that comes with every new trailer drop. All games have that risk of not doing well no matter what but my personal opinion is that the trailer got me excited to play. According to their press release it will drop on September 13th this year but only as a Epic Store exclusive for six months, it will drop to PS4 and XBox One on September 13 as well.
