Starbomb released their third and final album on April 19, 2019 with a list of tracks for gamers of all interests. As a musical-comedy group, the guys Dan Avidan, Arin Hanson and Brian Wecht, all who are known for the YouTube series The Game Grumps have always provided fun and sometimes crude outlooks on different things. All of the guys are funny and add different absurd thoughts on popular topics. Backed by Tupper Ware Remix Party, they chose to make fun of popular games both newer and older.
With only 14 tracks, The Tryforce offers short playtimes per track but are filled with total gaming nonsense. The album is explicit but tends to make you think as well. If making fun of popular games is your type of personality, this album will the best thing ever for you. For example, their track “Blowing the Payload,” is a complete song dedicated to a story of how the Overwatch characters go above and beyond and ultimately mess everything up for every mission they get.
Two of my personal favorites songs are “Hardest Fucking Game in the World” and “The Simple Plot of Kingdom Hearts.” First off, Dark Souls is one of the hardest games ever to beat but amazing and very well done. Second, there is nothing simple about the plot to Kingdom Hearts. Fans waited how many years to finally get an end to the story? Both songs are great because they are true in a way about how people view the plots and obstacles to their respective games. Both are also equally funny and random too. Somewhere in the middle is some clarity of why the guys feel the way they do about these specific games as well, but it’s all in the name of fun.
All of the other tracks are variable in game, like Donkey Kong or one for the Dragon Ball fans. Each song has a different feel to it. Some are rap, others are ballads and there is at least one skit in the mix as well. The whole album is a mixture of fun and chaos and runs a little over 30 minutes. Now we just need to know why the guys decided to end their comedy albums here at the third one. If you get this album, let us know what you think of it!
