Welcome to the Raw review for May 6, 2019. For this and Smackdown, I will go over the talking points and pick the match of the night.
Wild Card
Vince McMahon decided that since Roman Reigns was going to show up on Raw, he might as well make it seem that it was his idea. Vince said that a wild card rule was in effect and that four people from either brand can come over to the other show. Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston joined the party and Lars Sullivan would show up later. This could lead to some more cross brand matches, but it needs to be presented a little more firmly
RIP
There was nothing funny about FireFly Funhouse this week. Mercy the buzzard had killed and eaten Rambling Rabbit. Bray did not seem to be that upset and said that Mercy should be rewarded for his actions. This reward was a picnic with a group of kids that did not look like they were having a good time. In fact, they looked like they were there against their will. We have crossed over into creepy and I can not wait to see what happens next week
Wrestlemania Rematch
Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre picked up where they left off at Wrestlemania. This match benefited from a hot crowd who was definitely in Reigns corner for the entire match. Everything just had a little bit more pop to it. McIntyre is going to come after Seth Rollins or AJ Styles sooner then later and it is matches like this that show why he is the future.
Match of the Night
Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan (Kofi wins by pinfall)
Bryan and Kofi came out without their buddies and the match was as hard hitting as you think it was going to be. There were some major bumps near the end that made it look really nasty and personal. Kofi has shown he can get it done without the New Day. The question now remains does Bryan stay on Smackdown or move to Raw?
Conclusion
The Viking Raiders beat Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder. Lacey Evans beat some local talent. Lars destroyed No Way Jose. Bobby Lashley and Corbin beat Rollins and Styles. Ricochet beat Bobby Roode. Lucha House Party beat some local talent.
