Welcome to the Raw review for May 13, 2019. For this and Smackdown, I will go over the talking points and pick the match of the night.
Show Time
Roman Reigns was a guest on the international broadcast of Miz TV. The Miz started to question Reigns about possible starring in a Hollywood movie together. Reigns reminded him that he didn’t want to talk to Hollywood Miz, but the New Miz. Miz rose to the challenge and launched into a brutal promise for Shane McMahon. I said before that watching how Miz has tailored his character to be a good guy. A masterclass.
Contract Time
Becky Lynch received a hero’s welcome as she signed the contract for her matches against Lacey Evans and Charlotte. Lynch was all swagger and comebacks, but it was Evans and Charlotte who pointed out the obvious. Lynch has two matches in the same night (not to mention facing the winner of Money in the Bank). Lynch is facing a huge mountain and if she pulls it off, she will show that she belongs in the spot she has been given
Secret Time
No more fun and cute Firefly Fun house. Bray said that he had a secret he wanted to show the WWE Universe. Suddenly everything got dark and red. Bray was not Bray, some sort of demon replacing him in front of the cameras. This is what we have been waiting for. The gimmick that came before was brilliant, but this is next level. This character can come to the ring and destroy. It was one of the scariest things ever seen on WWE.
Match of the Night
Braun Strowman vs. Sami Zayn (Zayn wins by pinfall and will replace Strowman in the Money in the Bank match)
Zayn needed this win. His promo work has been outstanding, but he needed a win like this in order to prove that he is sticking around for awhile. The Falls count anywhere seemed to benefit the Monster, until a few intruders tipped it for Zayn. Strowman works best when he is on a rampage, so the loss does not hurt. Zayn has just moved into the front runner position to win on Sunday.
Conclusion
Reigns and Miz won by DQ against Elias and Bobby Lashley. Nikki Cross won a fatal fourway. Mojo Rawley beat Apollo Crews. Corbin beat Richochet. Mysterio beat Cesaro
