Welcome to Money in the Bank for May 19 2019. For all WWE pay-per-views, I will go over every match, share the highlights and look ahead to the next show.
SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan & Rowan vs. The Usos (Usos win by pinfall)
The Usos, Daniel Bryan and Rowan are perfect foes for each other. The Usos are pranksters and The Planet’s Tag Team Champions take themselves very serious. This brand match up was very good with The Usos using their quickness to stop Bryan and Rowan. Rowan is being built more like the monster he was with the Wyatt Faminly.
Grade: 7 out of 10
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match (Bayley wins Money in the Bank)
This was one of the best ladder matches the women division has ever put on. So many high impact spots. Naomi had the moves of a bumblebee. Nikki Cross was pure chaos. Ember Moon hit an eclipse from a ladder. Sonya Devill put Mandy Rose on her back and climbed the ladder. In the end, Bayley took the briefcase. Fantastic.
Grade: 10 out of 10
United States Champion Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio (Mysterio wins by pinfall to become the new US Champion)
This was surprising quick and surprising brutal. Joe was busted open near the end. Mysterio took a chop that you could feel as well as hear. Mysterio pinned Joe, but one of his shoulders were up. Joe took his frustrations out after the match, destroying Mytserio in front of his son. I got it, as the first match was quick as well. Rubber match time.

The Miz vs. Shane McMahon (Steel Cage Match) (Shane wins by escaping the cage)
The story told here was perfect. Shane was running for the wall as soon as the bell rung. Miz looked to punish Shane for everything he had done. Not as brutal as other cage matches, but had an air that something strange was going on. Shane was able to stop a count by getting his foot on the rope, something that a no DQ would prevent. Miz tried to destroy Shane, and allowed him to slip out of his shirt and to the floor. Not over yet.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese vs. Ariya Daivari (Nese wins by pinfall)
Cruserweights are known for having high flying moves and fast paced matches. Nese and Davari decided to show that they can put on a wrestling match focused on power and normal moves. It took the crowd awhile to get into it, but they were cheering at the end. Nese would work better as a heel, as he character seems to be more about showing off.
Grade: 8 out of 10
Raw & SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Lacey Evans (Lynch wins by submission)
This felt more like a new chapter in the story rather then the end of it. Evans is perfect for Lynch, as she is everything The Man is not and despises. IT was the right choice for Lynch to retain, but Evans looked strong the entire time. The Sassy Southern Belle could have a very long life as this charcter and a little more time in the ring will only make her better
Grade: 10 out of 10
Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair (Flair wins by pinfall to become the new Smackdown Champion, Bayley cashed in to become the Smackdown Women’s Champion)
Lynch did not look ready for Charlotte to come down and for her second title match to begin so soon after the first. Lynch gave everything, but you could see the previous battle had taken it out of her. Evans attacked when the referee was not looking and Charlotte won. Evans and Charlotte beat down Lynch until Bayley made the save. Knocking Charlotte out, Bayley hit an elbow for the win. Roller Coaster of emotions.
Grade: 10 out of 10
Roman Reigns vs. Elias (Reign wins by pinfall)
Elais attacked Reigns backstage before the match even started. He then proceeded to break out an electric guitar and bash the audience. He then tried to leave until Reigns attacked and threw him back in the ring. A spear later and it was all over.
5 out of 10
Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs. AJ Styles (Rollins wins by pinfall)
The best match of the year. Two of the greatest of this generation giving everything they got. Styles always makes his opponents look good, but he was simply on another level her. Rollins took everything that he got and asked for more. The crowd was standing chanting and screaming the entire time. If you missed this one, give it a look as fast as you can.
Grade: 10 out of 10
WWE Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Kevin Owens (Kingston wins by pinfall)
This match was almost perfect, but it was missing that one thing to give it the perfect ten. The decision to focus on Kofi by himself would silence anyone who believes that he would lose without the New Day. Owens was yelling and hitting everything to make Kofi stay down. I think that after what Owens did, there needed to be more rage and carnage. Maybe these two can have a rematch and a stipulation can be added.
Grade: 9 out of 10
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match (Lesnar wins Money in the Bank)
Back breaking. The type of match that makes you shout when a body hits. Unbelievable spots. That was Money in the Bank on the Men’s side. Ali and Ricochet were high flying masters. McIntyre had some unbelievable spots. Corbin was looking for a way to sneak in. Balor put it all on the line. Orton hit a great RKO. In the end, it was the Beast Brock Lesnar, who defeated everyone and got the briefcase.
Grade: 10 out of 10
Final Thoughts: Great Money in the Bank ladder matches. Some fantastic surprises. If you were watching something else tonight, give this a look when you can.
