Welcome to the Smackdown Review for June 11, 2019 For both this and Raw, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show
Talking Points
Not Done
The Miz had Shane on Miz TV. The Best in the World was joined by Elias and Drew McIntyre. Miz and Shane still do not like each other, and it was refreshing to see the story line get revisited. After a few shots, Shane said that Miz could have a rematch with Shane if he beat Elias and Mcintyre. Miz beat Elias, but the Scottish Psychopath was too much. Shane then attacked Miz and made him tap out. Shane is getting built up here, revenge will be so much sweeter when someone knocks him down.
Trapped
R-Truth and Carmella are still on the run. Truth talked about how being the champ is negatively effecting his life, while also referring to it as the 7-11 Championship. A noise had Truth duck into a trunk, which suddenly became locked. Carmella had a match and Truth was screaming to be let out. Jinder walked by and with the most horrible Carmella impersonation, went to go get “help” Truth and the segments with him are just fantastic.
Jersey Devil
Sonya Devill took on Carmella with Mandy Rose at ringside. While Rose has been the spotlight, Sonya brings some wicked looking moves to the table. There were some spots were it looked like Carmella had gotten seriously hurt. Sonya might be the muscle in this duo, but she has the talent to go far if they decide to split up Fire and Desire.
Match of the Night
New Day vs. Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (The New Day win by pinfall)
Welcome back Big E. The powerhouse of the New Day showed no rust as he proceeded to fly and throw people around the ring. Owens and Zayn were almost an afterthought as this match was all about Big E showing that the time off had not slowed him down. Ziggler and Kofi can have a great match inside the steel cage, and get Woods back to E3 stat!
