Welcome to the Smackdown Review for June 18, 2019 For both this and Raw, I will go over what the big talking points were, pick the match of the night, and look ahead to the next show
Talking Points

Still Looking

Baron Corbin was still on the hunt for a referee for this Sunday’s match. It looked like the B-Team might be considering it, but Rollins still had his trusty chair to make them think twice. Many people though that Raw did not deliver on the promise of the referee being named, but this shows it was part of a continuing story line. The ref will be named on Sunday and here is a thought: What if Corbin does not name a man, but The Man as the official?

No More Shane

Shane was not his usual self as he came to the ring with Elias and Drew McIntyre. He had barely started when The Miz came out complete with a highlight reel of Shane being destroyed by Roman Reigns. Miz also talked about how Shane has taken up airtime ever since he became the best in the world. Say what you want about the writing staff, but it seems they are listening.

Betrayed

R-Truth is a national treasure. He must be protected at all costs. What he has done ever since looking for Carmella is become a comedy king. The 24/7 championship has become one of the most entertaining segments of both shows. Truth lost the title, thanks to a clever disguise by Drew Maverick. Truth will still be in the hunt and maybe it will start at a certain someone’s wedding.

Match of the Night

Xavier Woods vs. Dolph Ziggler (Ziggler wins by pinfall)
You don’t always have to have the challenger for a championship promo or attack the champion to make it sell. Sometimes, you just need a great match with someone your foe cares about. Woods was flying around the ring and Ziggler showed a nasty side that might serve him well.
 Conclusion
Heavy Machinery beat The B-Team. Awesome Truth fell to McIntyre and Elias. Rollins and Kofi beat Owens and Zayn. https://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown
