The day has come for dogs to cower under furniture and shake in their boots while the fireworks go off celebrating American Freedom. No matter what history you observe, there are stand out people in history that paved the way to where we are now. Funko has decided to honor these people in a Fourth of July collection called American History Pop!

One of my personal favorites (OK maybe two) are the “We can do it” pop of Rosie the Riveter with her iconic bandanna and tool. She is one of the most iconic females in history, letting all other women know that they are capable of doing the work of a man. This stemmed from the war when women had to step in to keep the economy going while their partners were out and this changed lives forever. The next favorite is the boat of George Washington crossing the Delaware River. This is a unique piece because of the size and also the history. If it wasn’t history related then we wouldn’t be here.

A lot of feedback has come in about these figures so far and not a lot of folks are happy. Maybe this is because when you think of history you think of the long boring lectures and dry books that you had to read. For anyone even remotely interested in the past, then these could all be great pieces to display. Teachers could even gain some interest in their classrooms with said pieces too!

Target will be exclusively carrying Rosie the Riveter, Uncle Sam, Abe Lincoln, and the Delaware Crossing pop. George Washington and Benjamin Franklin will be available in most retail shops. Dated to release June 28th, this collection is showing up right in time for the holiday. I compare these pops to the line of Ad Icons because of their well-known nature but a bit more specific. Whether you like this collection or not, they are still pretty awesome to look at and to learn from. Happy 4th of July!
