Everyone’s favorite group of kids is back at it again. They aren’t so little anymore. They are facing teenage angst, love, and…the mind flayer? Beware: SPOILERS BELOW!
STRANGER THINGS
It seems that everything is back to normal in Hawkins. School’s out for the summer, the pool is full of kids and desperate moms trying to get a good look at the new lifeguard. Eleven and Mike have been dating since they have been reunited. They spend every waking moment together to the dismay of their friends and Hopper who is the father-figure that Eleven has been missing most of her life.
A new mall has opened up in town: Starcourt. It’s where all the kids are hanging out and one of our favorite characters is working there! Unfortunately, the mom and pop businesses are suffering because of the mall and it’s expansion.
Underneath all of the new expansions of Hawkins, something fishy is going on. Dustin comes across a Russian coded message on an unsecured radio line which he is trying to decipher and why they would be in Hawkins. Is there a Russian invasion happening right under everyone’s noses?
While this is happening, the Mind Flayer is growing in strength for some reason even though it has been separated from Will. It has found a new host in the shirtless bad boy Billy Hargrove, tasking him to bring more people to him to infect. It is reminiscent of Invasion of the Body Snatchers as they seemed to be controlled completely by the Mind Flayer.
All the main characters are investigating different parts of the mystery of why the rats are going nuts, what is going on with Billy, and why is there a Russian transmission being played on radio frequencies? All of this and more in the newest season of Stranger Things.
You’ll laugh, cry and be reminded of all the awesome references to ’80s culture. I can’t wait to see what happens next on this show!
