Remember the days of watching The Breakfast Club growing up and how they all came out as friends, stronger than ever? Well, this episode isn’t like that at all.
Everyone’s nightmare: being back in high school. The days of pimples, cliques and horrible bullies. Welcome to Helbrook High School, Home of the Admirals. We meet five students sitting in Saturday detention for petty indiscretions.
Erica Yang, president of the student council and top of her class is an unlikely person to end up in Saturday detention. What could she have possibly done to end up in a room of misfits? There is so much pressure on this particular character to succeed and make it into Harvard. She meets Brett, a quiet boy; Lizzy, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks; Vic, a wannabe tough guy; and Russ, a smart mouth with alcoholic tendencies.
It may start out like something out of the an ’80s movie but quickly moves to Scream-level ’90s thriller. There is a psychotic murderer stalking the grounds of Helbrook High school, taking down the undesirables of the high school. i.e. troublemakers, bullies, anyone that would sully the name of the high school. Who is going to be picked off next by this pirate-clad murderer?
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode. My favorite type of horror movies usually involve teens in high school making stupid choices. The ending left a lot to be desired but I believe it’s still worth watching. There a couple of twists and turns that come out of no where.
