Welcome to the SummerSlam review for August 11, 2019.

Drew Gulak vs. Oney Lorcan. Gulak is just a nasty champion. Goes right after whoever he is facing. Lorcan got very little offense in. Gulak uses the Cyclone Crash for the dominant victory.

Apollo Crews and Buddy Murphy. Looks like this is just for the fun of it. Rowan comes out and attacks Murphy. You know what they say about snitches.

The OC looking to recruit Finn Balor

Elias is out. Edge shows up. HE SPEARS ELIAS!! How long since that happened?

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs. IIconics. Nikki looks like she is the babyface in peril in this match. Bliss hits Twisted Bliss to win. Who exactly was the heel and babyface in this match?

Main show time

Becky Lynch vs Natalya for the Raw Women’s Title in a submission match is up up first. Both women get a loud response from the crowd

Natalya is trying to hurt Lynch’s leg to soften her up for the Sharpshooter. Good work by Lynch that every time Natalya trash talks her, she slaps her

Natalya puts a sharpshooter on Lynch from the top rope. Most awesome use of the move I have seen in a long time.

“This is awesome”

Lynch applies the Sharpshooter, Natalya replies with the Dis-Arm-Her

Lynch applies the Dis-Arm-Her and Natalya has to tap. Great match. Natalya and Lynch both looked strong.

Goldberg vs Dolph Ziggler is next. This could be short.

Goldberg walking through those sparks bare chested is always impressive.

Ziggler hits two super kicks and gets a two count. Goldberg hits a spear and a Jackhammer for the win.

Ziggler talks trash and Goldberg walks back and hits another spear. Ziggler does it again and Goldberg comes back. Why is this so entertaining?

AJ Styles vs. Richochett for the US Title is next. Will the OC get involved?

Carmella and Truth are dressed as announcers in the International World Group.

Ricochet walks on the shoulders of Gallows and Anderson to hit a hurricanranna on Styles. WOW!

Richochett jumps from the top rope on one leg. This could be a highlight reel night for him.

Styles tries to take Richochett’s leg from him. Superhero can’t fly if he’s crippled

Richochett tries to fly onto Styles, but Styles catches him in to the Phenomanal Clash for the pin. The OC attacks after the match.

The Street Profits meet Ric Flair. More of this please.

Bayley vs Ember Moon is next

Moon follows Bayley into the corner with handstand attack.

There is no bad blood between these two, but everything is stiff and brutal. No love loss here

The women tonight are killing it with new moves. Moon hits a sort of codebreaker on Bayley.

Bayley hits a Bayley-to-Belly from the top rope to get the pin. A surprising brutal match with no such stipulations attached.

Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens. Big implications here.

Elias is the special enforcer. Should still be OK. A McMahon appointed refree has never done anything suspect in Canada right?

Shane and Elias are trying everything to win. At one point, they give Owens a chair to get him DQ, but Owens does not take the bait.

Referees are done, Owens goes for the chair. Elias makes the mistake of getting up, and gets wailed on.

Low blow from Owens when the referee is not looking and a stunner. Owens keeps his job.

Charlotte vs Trish Stratus is next.

“You still got it.”

Charlotte is really using her reach to her advantage in this match. She can get to Trish from very far away.

Trish is taking some hard bumps for a veteran. A kick from Charlotte sends her to the floor hard.

Trish hits a huge hurricanranna from the top rope. Remember when people were worried because she did not tag in during the match on Raw? No worries anymore.

“This is awesome!”

Charlotte gets the figure 8 and Trish is forced to tap. Best match of the night so far.

Randy Orton vs. Kofi is next. Really excited for this one.

They are not holding back. Orton slams Kofi on both tables. Kofi is taking high risk early.

Kofi has an awesome moment where he hits two chest chops. He waits and then hits them so hard they bring Orton to his back. Really builds the anticipation.

Kofi jumps from the top rope right into an RKO. Orton’s smile sells this one.

Orton tries to beat Kofi in front of his family, but gets counted out. Kofi goes nuts and attacks with a kendo stick before hitting Trouble in Paradise. Looks like this rivarly will continue.

The Fiend vs. Finn Balor is next. Let’s see how this fantastic character translates to the ring.

Bray comes out to a heavy metal remix of his theme song and what looks like his NORMAL HEAD AS A LANTERN! Mother of God!

Bray is faster and stronger. This is a horror movie mixed with a wrestling match.

Bray wins with the mandible claw. Mostly a squash match. A new star is reborn.

“That was awesome.”

Main event time. Can Seth Rollins beat Brock Lesnar?

A beatdown by Lesnar is stopped by a sudden Stomp by Rollins. Rollins has learned to beat the suplexs by landing on his feet.

Lesnar swings Rollins around by his rib tape.

This is much more even then one would expect. Lesnar is in control for awhile and then Rollins gets some moves in.

Rollins hits a frog splash on Lesnar through an announce table. For a match we have seen before, this one is hype.

Rollins counters an F-5 and hits the stomp for the win. Best match for these two.
