Welcome to the Smackdown review for September 10, 2019.
Story Progression
Rowan might not be telling us the full truth of why he attacked Rowan, but his segment made me want to watch the match. After Reigns made his way to the ring, the two went full on brawl. Rowan picked up a fan to use as a projectile and even flattened Reigns with a camera crane. This makes the match much more violent at Clash of Champions. The only thing would be a street fight or no DQ stipulation to make it even better. And then it was made no DQ later in the night.
The saga of Shane and Kevin Owens took another turn. Shane, who replaced Elias in the King of the Ring, made Owens the referee and told him the fine might go away if he refereed the match correctly. Shane trying to take down Owens every week is not interesting. Trying to bring him over to the dark side adds another layer to it. Naturally, Owens kept himself on the light side. It cost him as Shane fired him.
