Welcome to the Clash of Champions review for September 15, 2019.

Drew Gulak vs. Humberto Carrillo vs. Lince Dorado for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship is our first match on the kickoff show.

Gulak might be a heel champion, but he does not take shortcuts. He attacks anyone even if it would benefit him to let the other two fight.

Carrillo hits a diving move over the ropes on Dorado who is on Gulak’s shoulders. Great move.

“This is awesome”

After a series of two counts and some high flying moves, Gulak manages to roll up Dorado to retain his championship. Good match. Crowd was in it.

Cedric Alexander vs. AJ Styles for the US Championship is next. You can’t end the kickoff show hotter than that.

Alexander starts off like a tiger with his tail on fire. It works as he knows he would have to attack quickly to have a shot at beating Styles.

Styles hits a huge Phenomenal Elbow and then the Styles Clash for the win. The OC beats up Cedric after the match

Main show time

Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman vs Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler for the Raw Tag Team Championship is first. I actually want Rollins and Strowman to retain.

Strowman hits a running shoulder block on Ziggler and Roode. There is no way that move does not hurt every time.

Roode hits a glorious DDT on Rollins to get the pin and the Tag Team Belts. No one turned on each other which is surprising.

Bayley vs. Charlotte for the Smackdown Women’s Championship is next. Charlotte should get a big reception in her hometown.

If Bayley does not get some offense in, this could be over quick. Charolette is relentless.

Bayley removes the padding on the turnbuckle and slams Charlotte into it for the surprise pin. The Hugger going to the darkside is taking small steps. Running from the ring worked too.

The Revival vs New Day is next for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship. If the Revival win, do they immediately go to Smackdown?

Good to see the New Day not kidding around. Given the storyline, it makes sense.

Big E is the babyface in peril and Woods is the savior. Tell me the last time that happened.

Shatter Machine on Big E on the outside. Woods gets hurt and the Revival decide to make him pay instead of pinning him. They get Woods to tap to become the New Smackdown Tag Team Champions. The Revival have now held every tag team title in WWE.

Fire and Desire take on Nikki Cross and Alexia Bliss for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

They are using the appearance mocking as a story line, but also saying that it is bad. So progress?

R-Truth runs into the ring and Bliss tries to pin him. Truth and Carmella escape.

Nikki hits a top rope neckbreaker to score the pin on Rose and retain the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

The Miz vs. Shinsuke Nakamura with Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship. Zayn comes to the ring with a neck brace courtesy of the Undertaker.

Zayn grabs a microphone and does running commentary until his mic is cut off.

Best match of the night so far. Miz and Nakamura have a real great give and take. Nakamura gets the pin after Miz is distracted by Zayn.

The Man vs. The Boss is next.

Banks has gotten vicious in her time off. Everything looks brutal and hurts.

“This is awesome”

Banks uses a chair with the referee not seeing. Lynch kicks out. The Man does not go down so easy.

The referee gets blasted by the chair from Lynch. Lynch uses it on Banks who escapes into the crowd. The fight continues all through the arena.

Lynch puts the Dis-Arm-Her on Sasha with a chair. Officials come out and officially DQ Lynch. Hell of a match.

Randy Orton vs. Kofi for the WWE Championship.

Kofi hits Orton with some chest hand slaps. I think they might have pissed off Orton for real.

This is a slow build match. No fancy moves, just two men beating on  each other. The pace began to speed up as the match goes on.

Orton hits an RKO, but Kofi gets a leg on the rope. Orton decides to bring back the punt, but Kofi dodges it and hits Trouble in Paradise for the win.

Roman Reigns vs. Rowan in No DQ match is next.

Things stay in the ring for about seven seconds.

Kendo sticks, tables, every piece of weapons available. Rowan looks like Reigns’ equal in this match.

LUKE HARPER! LUKE HARPER! LUKE HARPER!

Rowan wins with the Iron Claw with Harper’s help. WOW!

Main event time. Rollins vs. Strowman.

Strowman throwing Rollins around with ease and then yelling you are tougher than that works.

Rollins looks as if he might be in some real danger.

Strowman hits a frog splash from the top rope.

It takes four stomps and a pedigree to put Strowman down. Rollins gets a few seconds to celebrate before he is attacked by the Fiend.
