Welcome to the Raw review for September 16, 2019.
Story Progression
It has been now for awhile, but Seth Rollins will face The Fiend Bray Wyatt at Hell in the Cell. Rollins clued us in that the match will actually be in the famous structure. Wyatt appeared, taunting Seth with his own past mistakes and hinting that he might be in the building tonight as well. Another segment had Wyatt hanging pictures of the Superstars he has attacked. Creepy and fun. He ended the night attacking Kane.
Chad Gable’s match was a textbook example on how to get a crowd to your side. Facing off against Baron Corbin for the King of the Ring, Gable did not get much of a reaction from the crowd. He kept at it and by the end of the match, the crowd was cheering and chanting his name. Corbin deserves a fair amount of credit as well, but Gable showed if you have talent and desire, you can get the audience on your side.
Returns
You don’t see re debuts like this unless it is after Wrestlemania. Rusev came back, looking shredded. The AOP gave us a new story for their characters. And the Mayor of Knoxville, Glen Jacobs, decided to get another championship to add to his resume.
