Every once in a while a game comes around that makes you want to laugh and cry all at the same time. I mean, have you ever wanted to be a goose that reigns mischief down on your townspeople? No? Well, you should. House House developed the Untitled Goose Game just for the curious.
Admittedly, I really don’t know the reason why this game is as fun as it is, but I like it anyway. If there is a plot, a loose term for sure, it would probably just boil down to annoying all of the townspeople. According to the developers, you’re a goose that hates people and you like to ruin everything. Depending on your point of view, this can be true and false all at the same time. Some people just really enjoy running around as a goose creating their own story.
The game is meant to be funny and out there. So, there really is no plot other than to cause trouble. Mostly the game is centered around puzzles that seem pretty straight forward. For example, if you want to get into an area, then find a way to get someone to open the gate. Untitled Good Game can also be considered an action game, because you are constantly pulling, dragging, and running around.
Things this game is not: a beat-em-up or story rich. If you have no imagination or humor, then you probably won’t get this one. You literally get a to-do list to work on and go from there. This semi-open world is nice to look at but it’s possible some people will just get bored. Imagine a goose going around and destroying tasks that Sims characters are working on and you’re closer to understanding what this is.
Overall, being a goose is a lot of fun. You also get a fun honk button too. There’s nothing better than sneaking up on someone and honking like crazy. The tasks aren’t too terribly difficult and the characters are fun to mess with. So just go with the flow on this one, laugh and enjoy.
