Never ever steal a Leprechaun’s gold, especially this one. Warwick Davis’s Leprechaun is one of the most hilarious and cringe-y horror movies from the 90’s. It was panned by critics but is now a cult classic horror film.
Not only is this movie now crowned a cult classic in horror but it was also Jennifer Aniston’s first film. This movie came out just before Friends came out so we see a fresh faced Rachel fighting to survive against the vengeful Leprechaun. Don’t listen to the critics who say that it is her worst film, check it out for your self before deciding that.
The Leprechaun follows a man who stole his gold from Ireland to North Dakota and that is how he got his start in the United States.
The series isn’t always consistent. Through the span of the films, different items are his weakness and in the Leprechaun 2 he has more of an obsession with finding his descendant bride to Leprechaun 4: In Space, where, you guessed it, he is in space fighting with Space Marines.
The Leprechaun even makes his way to the hood in Los Angeles in Leprechaun 5: In the Hood and Leprechaun 6: Back 2 Tha Hood. In these films, a medallion that is taken off of him (he is much like a statue) is what brings him to life and causes mayhem in the hood. A golden flute and his pot of gold make appearances in these two films.
As a villain he is more comical than anything and kills his victims in interesting ways. He is very sadistic and is very perverse when it comes to women. He makes this list because he is one of the more memorable of horror movie villains.
