Welcome to the Royal Rumble review for January 26, 2020.

Sheamus and Chad Gable was the first match of the night. Very early on, Gable suffered an injury to his left ear. Sheamus was all power, but Gable kept trying to ground the Fella. The crowd was loud for Gable, but there were plenty of Sheamus fans as well. Sheamus won with the Brogue Kick. Good match and a nice bit of respect for Gable to come out in Lakers colors in honor of Kobe Bryant.

Andrade and Humberto Carrillo for the US Championship was next. Carrillo sacrificed high flying moves for a more grounded power game. Andrade may have thought that he could simply overwhelm his opponent, but he was on guard for most of the match. Andrade rolled him up for the win, which seemed to suggest that he had to survive this match.

Roman Reigns vs. Baron Corbin in a Falls Count Anywhere match is next.

Reigns beats up the guys carrying Corbin’s throne and proceeds to throw The King all around the ring. Corbin hits a Deep Six out of nowhere for a close two count.

A fight around the arena ends with Corbin nailing Reigns with the ring bell. He throws the Big Dog on the German announce table. He then plants Reigns through the Spanish Table.

Corbin is wearing him out as he looks for more tables to put Reigns though. The international row looks good, but Reigns beats him to the punch. Twice.

Roode and Ziggler come out of the crowd. They attack Reigns until The Usos come out to even the score. All four helpers go down and Reigns is left standing.

Reigns throws Corbin into a porta-potty and tips it over. The crowd is LOVING it. Reigns is talking to the crowd as he beats up Corbin.

A chair shot on top of the dugout gives Corbin the advantage, but Reigns recovers to hit a spear for the  win. Good match.

Bayley vs. Lacey Evans for the Smackdown Championship is up next.

I will say that the daughter storyline could be a mess if not done right. Evans gets the early advantage, but Bayley fakes an injury to regain control.

Bayley is trash talking to Evan’s daughter as she beats up her mother. She hits a wicked clothesline. She is not allowing Evans any offensive.

A great spot where Lacey’s daughter is holding her hand as Bayley attacks. Evans tries moonsault, but Bayley puts her knees up and grabs the tights for the win.

Daniel Bryan vs. The Fiend in a Strap Match for the WWE Championship.

The Fiend is out with HIS Belt around his neck. Creepy as hell. And no red light! Happy now internet?

The Fiend is whipping Bryan like a government mule. Bryan tries a dive, and The Fiend slams him into the ring post.

The Fiend is all offensive. Right out of the gate. More slaps. Bryan’s back is almost all welts. He hits a running knee and a dive off the top rope. He hits another knee, but Bray comes right back with a clothesline.

Bryan uses the no DQ to hit several low blows. He plants The Fiend with a DDT on the table. He then uses the strap. Yes Kicks mixed with strap hits. The Fiend wants more.

Bryan tries a running knee, but Bray picks him out of the air for a Sister Abigail. Two count. Fiend has the Claw, but Bryan reverses it.

Bryan tries to use the crowd, but The Fiend becomes Michael Myers. Nothing touches him. Bray slams him and holds the Mandible Claw for the win. The Fiend’s best match yet

Bryan takes his time out of the ring.

Becky Lynch vs. Askua for the Raw Championship

Lynch throws Askua outside and tries a dive, but Askua spins her and lands a kick. Lynch retaliates with a Dis-Arm-Her on the ropes.

Askua tries a hip attack in the corner, but Lynch kicked her as she jumps. Lynch slams Askua out of the ring flat on her face.

After an exchange on the ring apron, Lynch slams Askua from the top rope. Not enough. Askua sneaks in an arm bar. Askua then kicks the Man, but Lynch demands more.

Lynch almost hits the referee, but is able to hit Askua just as the Empress tries the green mist. She locks in the Dis-Arm Her and Askua taps.
