Welcome to the TLC review for December 15, 2019.
The Viking Raiders vs Curtis Hawkings and Zack Ryder will start us off.
Erik is destroying both Hawkins and Ryder. Ivar is the bigger of the two, but Erik is no weak link. Hawkins surprises him and is able to regain control.
Ivar gets the tag and cleans house. Ryder accidentally hits Hawkins. The Raiders hit the Viking Experience for the pin.
Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulack is up next. I am really excited about what these two can do.
If you want to tell a story about one wrestler seeing the weakness in another, this is how you do it. Gulak reverses everything Bryan throws at him.
This match is all about holds and reverses. No big moves, just two great grapplers doing some holds. Bryan eventually get frustrated and kicks Gulak’s leg. This gives way to a series of strikes.
Gulak tries to suplex Bryans, but Bryan holds him off. He suplexs Gulak over the top rope, but Gulak holds on and flips Bryan to the floor. WOW!
A nasty suplex that lands Bryan right on his hand leads to a close ten count. Bryan recovers, but Gulak is able to hit a top rope inverted suplex. Bryan is able to put on the Yes Lock and Gulak passes out. That was the most indie match WWE has put on in awhile. I hope there is a sequel.
Andrade vs.Humberto Carrillo for the US Title is next.
Andrade comes out with the back elbow. Whenever Carrillo tries something Andrade just hits back. Carrillo finally dumps him outside the ring to gain some momentum.
With the story between these two, it’s nice to see the aggression being turned up. Carrillo is trying to go high, but Andrade responds with blunt force.
Carrillo and Andrade have a chest chop party while perched on the top rope. Carrillo hits an nasty hurrcanrania.
“This is awesome”
Carrillo kicks out of the double knee. Zelina pulls up the mats on the outside. Carrillo blocks the hammerlock DDT. About eight reverse pinfalls from both men end when Andrade grabs the tights for the win. Great match.
The SmackDown Tag Team Elimination Chamber Championship match is next.
The Usos and The New Day will start us off
New Day and Usos fight to a draw. Lucha House Party is out next.
Miz and Morrison are out next. Lucha House Party is hitting all the high spots, from the top of the pods and around the chamber. Dorado hits a move that puts his legs through the chain links
“This is awesome”
Miz dusts off the Yes kicks, but still misses the last one. Heavy Machinery is out next.Dorado hangs from the top of the chamber and flips onto the men in the ring. Heavy Machinery eliminates Lucha House Party.
Ziggler and Roode are out last. Otis makes for Ziggler, but Ziggler escapes to the top of the pod. Tucker throws him to Otis. Tucker flips from the top to a pile of bodies.
Otis runs right at Ziggler, but a dive sends Otis through the pod and the chamber. Jesus!! Tucker tries, but Ziggler and Roode eliminate them. Usos hit a diving Uso Splash to eliminate Ziggler and Roode.
Miz and Morrison eliminate the New Day after they waged a war with the Usos. Jimmy kicks out of a skull crushing finale. Miz and Morrison win after using the ropes to pin. Fantastic Match!
AJ Styles vs Aleister Black no DQ is next
Black might be the better striker, but everytime he gets a head of steam, Gallows and Anderson distract him. Styles gets a kendo stick and goes for the legs.
Styles goes for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Black knees him in mid air. Black pulls out a table, but Styles blasts him with a chair.
Black gets put in the Calf Crusher, but he uses the kendo stick to break the hold. He unloads on Styles until a Pele kick stops him.
Black is selling his leg injury the entire time. Styles grabs him out of the air and mimics hitting a Tombstone. Black powers out and sends Styles into the chair in the corner.
Black hits a metoria on Styles through the table. Trying to set up Black Mass starts up a swarm by the OC. The lights go out and the Undertaker takes out The OC and chokeslams Styles. And just like that, he is gone. Black hits Black Mass for the win.
The Street Prophets vs Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy for the Raw Tag Team Champions is next.
Ford is just a ball of electricity. He looks like he is holding back and still going 100 miles an hour. He almost single handed keeps Rollins from tagging in.
After some AOP interference, The Viking Raiders show up to chase them off. This still allows Rollins and Murphy to slow down Ford.
Dawkins gets the tag and cleans the house. The Prophets hit some innovative double team moves. Rollins and Murphy act like the Usos and hit a few super kicks.
Murphy asking Rollins what to do fits nicely with the disciple/master story line. Rollins hits a buckle bomb with Murphy hits a knee. The Prophets and Rollins and Murphy hit a Tower of Doom.
Kevin Owens comes from the crowd with popcorn. He throws it in Rollins face which allows Dawkins to hit a running shoulder. Taking out Murphy, The Prophets pin Murphy to retain.
Braun Strowman vs Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship.
Stowman wants Zayn, but Sami won’t come in. Strowman knocks around Nakamura until The Artists hits a leg strike. Zayn gets a few cheap shots in
Cesaro seems to be the one giving Strowman the most trouble. Chasing Sami leaves Strowman open to three on one attacks.
Strowman gets thrown into the ring post, gets hit with a Hellakick and a suplex and Sami pins him to win the Intercontinental Championship.
The Woman’s Elimination Chamber will close us out.
Natalya and Ruby Riott will start us off.
Natalya is taking some hard bumps on the outside. Sarah Logan comes out and immediately hits double knees on Natalya. Natayla hits a powerbomb on Ruby. Logan jumps from a pod on both women.
Shayna Baszler comes in and chokes out Logan and Riott in about one minute. She throws Natalya hard into the pod, slams the door on her and chokes her out.
Morgan is out and is pronounced on. Baszler swings her head into the pod door and breaks it. She chokes her out right in front of Askua.
Askua comes out and finally Baszler has a problem. After some strikes, Askua locks in the Askua lock. Baszler finally gets her off.
Baszler locks it in and Askua is out. Baszler is the number one contender.
Results
The Viking Raiders beat Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins.
Daniel Bryan wins against Drew Gulack when Gulack passes out.
Andrade beats Carrillo to retain the US Title.
The Miz and Morrison win the Elimination Chamber to retain the Smackdown Tag Team Championships.
Black beat Styles.
The Street Prophets beat Rollins and Murphy.
Sami Zayn pins Strowman to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
Baszler wins the Elimination Chamber to become the number 1 contender for the Raw Championship.
Final Thought
Never seen a main event squash match.
