Welcome to the Wrestlemania 36 Review. Here is night one.
Drew Gulack vs. Cesaro will kick things off. This could be another technical classic.
Much like his fight with Daniel Bryan, Gulak seems to have a counter for everything Cesaro throws at him. Cesaro is more powerful than Bryan.
Cesaro is having problems with his arm, but he hits an uppercut to a top rope diving Gulak. Gulak is able to turn it into his own pinning combination.
Gulak almost runs into the referee, which allows Cesaro to hit another uppercut and then throw Gulak from an airplane spin to the mat for the pin. Good match, would have loved to see it go longer.
After a message from Stephine, we get a montage of artists singing America the Beautiful from Wrestlemania past.
Alexia Bliss and Nikki Cross vs. Askua and Kari Sane for the Tag Team Championships is next. JBL has joined Michael Cole for commentary.
It’s really cool that you can hear what the performers are saying to each other. Bliss mocks Sane and Askua before tagging in Nikki.
It seems that when Nikki is in trouble, Bliss saves her. It’s a strange reversal. Askua and Sane hit some hard double team moves on Nikki.
Bliss comes in, but Askua and Sane hang her up in the corner. Sane dives on Bliss while she is upside down. Now Bliss is in trouble.
Askua tries another hip attack, But Bliss gets her knees up. Nikki tags in and wipes out Sane. A rake of the eyes and Askua tags in. Nikki gets a pin, but Sane hits a InSane Elbow to break it up.

Elias vs. Baron Corbin is next
Corbin tries to get a forfeit win, but Elias makes his way to the ring. He beats Corbin and smashes his guitar on his back. The match finally starts.
Corbin is able to gain back some momentum. It seems that Elias is bleeding and his shoulder is still hurting from the fall. He takes a hard check into the post.
Corbn and the referee have words. It’s pretty cool to be able to hear what they are saying to each other. Elias snaps, but a miss lets Corbin hit a Deep Six. Close two count.
Corbin misses an End of Days and Elias jumps and hits a knee. Corbin rolls Elias up, but the referee sees him using the ropes. Elias rolls up Corbin and the referee does not see him get the tights for the win.

Lynch is attacking Baszler every chance she gets. She tries to jump off the rope for a kick, but Baszler catches her and hits a knee strike.
The two women battle on the ring apron. Lynch grabs Baszler and performs a Rock Bottom on the apron. That sounded like it hurt. Baszler swings Lynch into the announce table head first
Lynch gets beaten around the ring, but tries a Dis Arm Her when Baszler gets cocky. Baszler locks in her clutch, but Lynch manges to put her on her back for the pin.
Sami Zayn vs Daniel Bryan for the Intercontinental Championship is next.
Zayn does not want to fight Bryan and keeps rolling out of the ring. His buddies keep blocking when Bryan gives chase. Gulak takes them down. And Bryan gets Sami in the ring.
Bryan hits a huge dive. He throws Zayn in the ring and then hits a top rope springboard kick. He throws Sami in the corner and starts hitting kicks.
Sami hits a clothesline and finally gets some offfense in. Chops and punches dont faze Bryan and then Bryan hits a running clothesline.
Nakamura and Cesaro attack Gulak and Bryan wipes them out. The distraction allows Zayn to hit a Hullula Kick and get the pin.
Jimmy Uso vs. John Morrison vs Kofi in a ladder match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship.
There is just carnage from the beginning. Kofi tries to dive through a ladder only to be caught by Jimmy and Morrison and dumped outside. Jimmy and Morrison then use the ladder to inflict damage on each other.
After a parkour dive by Morrison, he sets up the ladder to get the belts. Kofi jumps and hits a hurrcannrani on him. Outside, Morrison picks up a ladder and Kofi dives on it and him. He then throws a ladder at a charging Jimmy.
Jimmy is placed on a ladder, Kofi tries to do a dive, but Morrison walks the ropes and hits a Spainish Fly. Jimmy then hits a Diving Uce on Morrison.
There is no crowd so I will say “ This is Awesome!”
Jimmy slams Kofi face first into a ladder. Morrison tries to dive on Jimmy, but Jimmy meets him with a super kick. Jimmy sets up and climbs a ladder, but Morrison dumps him to the outside.
All three men are at the top and have hands on the belts. They all unclip it and fight. Jimmy and Kofi headbut Morrison, but he takes the belts with him. Morrison and Miz retain the Smackdown Tag Team Match.

Rollins nails Owens with the steps and then tees off with a chair. Owens grabs the bells and nails Rollins. He then climbs onto the Wrestlemania sign and hits an elbow through the announce table. A Stunner in the ring seals the deal.
Just want to point out that Kevin Owens jumped off a sign to pop an audience at home. For gasps and cheers he will never hear.
Braun Strowman vs Goldberg for the Universal Championship is next. Could be quick
Goldberg hits four spears, but Strowman gets back up. Goldberg tries the Jackhammer, but Strowman counters and hits Four Powerslams for the pin.
AJ Styles vs The Undertaker in a Boneyard Match is next. Undertaker is in full American Bad-ass Taker mode.
This is shot like a horror movie. Styles is running, But Taker keeps coming. Styles dodges a punch and Taker’s hand goes through a window and gets cut up. He keeps coming.
Styles gets thrown in the grave, but Gallows and Anderson draw him away. Masked attackers appear and Taker fights them off. Gallows and Anderson get hit by a shovel, but Styles hits him with a gravestone.
Styles is telling him he should just retire and stop fighting. He takes a shovel and nails Undertaker into the grave. He gets into the tractor, but suddenly Taker is behind him.
They take the fight to the roof. Gallows is tombstoneed and now it is just Taker and Styles. Taker chokeslams Styles off the roof. He talks as he drags him to the grave.
Taker is actually kind of scary as he tells Styles he won’t bury him, then kicks him into the grave. The dirt lands and Taker wins. He rides off on his bike. That was great.
