Welcome to the Summerslam Review.
Had a little technical difficulties and finally got to Summerslam just as the recap for the Tag Team Match was playing. Sorry for the hiccup
Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Devill in a Loser Leaves WWE is up next.
First off, big props to both women for wrestling after the horrific real world event last week. Deville starts off strong, but Rose responds with a slam on the ramp.
With the change in match type on Friday, weapons can now be brought out to play. Rose gets a table, but Sonya cuts her off with a chair shot.
Sonya puts Rose in a modified Dragon Sleeper, all the time screaming for her to give up. Rose fights out and hits a running knee strike.
Sonya tries to use Rose’ finishing move on her. Rose hits a string of running knees, including one while Sonya is kneeling for the pin. Sonya must leave WWE. Otis comes out to celebrate.
Dominick vs Seth Rollins in a Street Fight. Let’s see how the kid can do.
There is a nice call back in Seth’s choice of outfit. Seth is playing with Dom, to a point where He almost gets some shots in, but Seth recovers.
Things devolve as kendo sticks and tables are brought in. Seth keeps taunting Rey at ringside. Things culminate as Dom drops Seth Through a table followed by a Frog Splash.
Seth looks as if he is going for a Buckle Bomb, but power bombs Dom hard. Handcuffs come out, and Mother Myterio comes out. Rey says he has to let Dom fight. Murphy and Seth tee off on both father and son.
Seth advances on mother and Dom goes OFF!. He beats both Murphy and Rollins and hits a 619 on Rollins. Seth turns the tide and taunts a handcuff Rey before stomping Dom for the win.
Sasha Banks vs Askua for the Raw Championship.
Banks wastes no time going after Askua in her second match. The Empress does not look winded, as she locks in submission moves on the Boss.
Banks hits a wicked sunset flip on Askua on the floor. Askua looks out of it. Banks tries pin after pin, but Askua refuses to go down.
Askua responds with a facebuster on Banks from the top rope. Banks is hanging on, but Bayley is not helping as much as one would think.
Banks gets a pep talkj from Bayley and walks right in an Askua Lock, Banks manges to turn it around into a Banks Statement. Reverse after reverse leads to Banks tapping out. Askua gets her belt back.
Drew Mcintyre vs Randy Orton for the Raw Championship.
Orton plays mind games, rolling out when ever Drew gets close. He grabs Drew’s running leg and almost hits an RKO.
Things begin to pick up, as both men try to hit their finishers. Drew hits the post and Orton takes the fight outside. He slams Drew onto the announce table and then slams him onto the floor.
Orton begins to zoom in on Drew’s knee. The Champion hits a spinbuster and locks in a Figure 4 Lock. Orton distracts the referee to thumb the eye.
After a burst from Drew, Orton starts to set him up for the RKO. A Glasgow Kiss sends both men out of the ring. Orton tries for the punt, but Drew moves out of the way. Drew tries to hit the Claymore, but Orton ducks. Orton tries for the RKO, but Drew hits a backslide for the win.
Braun Strowman vs The Fiend will close us out
The Fiend gets hit by Strowman and keeps coming back. At one point, The Fiend slams Strowman one handed! Strowman throws The Fiend through stairs and through tables, but The Fiend keeps coming.
The action spills outside the ring. The Fiend throws Strowman around the goralla postion and hits Sister Abigail for a two count. The Fiend drags him back to the ring.
Strowman hits a second powerslam, but The Fiend will not go down. Strowman grabs a box cutter and cuts into the ring. This proves to be a mistake as The Fiend hits two Sister Abigail for the win.
ROMAN REIGNS returns and nails both men!!
Results
Apollo Crews beat MVP to retain the US Championship.
Bayley beat Askua to retain the Smackdown Championship
The Street Prophets beat Andrade and Angel Garza to retain the Raw Tag Team Championships.
Mandy Rose beat Sonya Devill. Sonya must leave WWE
Dominick fell to Seth Rollins.
Askua beat Sasha Banks to become the new Raw Champion
Drew Mcintyre beat Randy Orton t9o retain the Raw Championship
