“Need For Speed” – once the pinnacle of arcade racing games – has seen dramatic shifts in its presentation for the last twenty years. From simple cross-country racing to embracing the illegal underground circuit, NFS established racing greatness without ignoring the ever-changing landscape of reality. One sub-series in the “Need For Speed” franchise brought forth praise from gamers & critics alike no matter the iteration or generation is was released: “Hot Pursuit”. Built on the ageless premise of cops versus robbers, the “Hot Pursuit” games have allowed gamers to either attempt to outrun the police or be a high-speed purveyor of the law. Now, ten years later during the end of gaming’s eighth generation comes a remastered version of a game that set a high standard & precedent for the franchise that has, arguably, not been outdone. It’s time to rev those engines, ensure every car in the garage is in pristine condition, and get some first impressions of “Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered”.
