It’s strange to think that it has been over six years since the world was first introduced to Freddy and his pals. Now Maximum Games has put the first five games of Five Nights at Freddy’s in one horrifying collection. If you are new to the series, this is the perfect introduction to the pizzeria where fun comes to life every night.
This collection in the first four games in the FNAF saga (FNAF 1, FNAF 2, FNAF 3 and FNAF 4) as well as Sister Location. The game puts you against animatronics as you try to survive five nights. As the nights progress, you learn about the history of Freddy’s and the terrible tragedies that befall it. Be too slow and the game ends with a jump scare. Even now, the scares and the creepiness still work.
Some people say that the games were just the same with different graphics. That is not entirely true. The first game was a tower defense, keeping the four characters from reaching you security office. The second was a resource management game, forcing you to make sure things kept running smoothly. The third is chess, as you battle Spring trap and make him move where you want. The fourth is a listening game, as you hear the monsters invading your home. Sister Location is actually the first real game, as you move and have to do things around the bunker.
If you are a fan of the series, should you get this collection. You might have different views, but I feel that finally having a physical copy for these games is pretty good. FNAF has taken on a life of it’s own, but these games show that Scott Cawthon is a master of building tension and scares. The reason we see all of the FNAF merchandise now is that the games are something special.
If you have never played the FNAF series, this is a must have. The story is interesting because nothing is spelled out. You have to get clues from speeches and hidden mini games what happened. There is also some new cheats if you want an easier or a harder challenge. Playing the games for the first time or the 100 is a good time. As long you keep them out. You wouldn’t want a Security Breach, right?
