Welcome to the Royal Rumble review for January 31, 2020.
Asuka and Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Last time, The champs had surprise on their side. Askua, the smallest wrestler in the match, was having a hard time dealing with the size of Jax. She did manage to hit a powerbomb on Jax. Once Charlotte got it, she was able to turn the tide toward the champs. Ric Flair and Lacey Evans showed up, and Evans hit a Women’s Right with a pair of Brass Knuckles and Jax got the pin.
Jax and Baszler beat Askua and Charlotte to become the new Tag Team Champions.
Drew McIntyre vs. Goldberg for the WWE Championship (TLC Match)
This was actually a pretty standard match. McIntyre looked like the current champion, and Goldberg looked a little like the legend he is. Goldberg speared McIntyre through the barrier and was able to hit the Jackhammer. It was the Claymore that made the difference, as the champion hit two to get the pin and past the test.
McIntyre beat Goldberg to retain the WWE Champion.
Sasha Banks vs. Carmella for the Smackdown Championship.
An interesting spot happened early when Carmella tied Banks’ hair to one of the ring rope. Banks tried a Three Amigos, but was thrown out of the ring into the arms of Reginald. Reginald was ejected (funny and unfair he did not do anything) but the distraction allowed Carmella to dive onto her. A foiled Frog Splash led to a Cone of Silence. Carmella tried, but a Banks Statement gave the win to The Boss.
Banks made Carmella tap to retain the Smackdown Championship

Roman Reigns vs Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship (Last Man Standing)
With everything that has happened between these two, you would think that someone would be killed in their match. The fight quickly spilled out into the sea of televisions as Reigns and Owens beat each other with fists and chairs. Owens was thrown off into the tables, but got to his feet. He was then run over by a golf cart driven by Reigns. Owens hit a massive Swanton Bomb from a raised work lift. The battle came back toward the ring and Reigns was able to choke out Owens for the win.
Roman Reigns is the Last Man standing to retain the Universal Championship.
