Welcome to the Elimination Chamber review for February 21, 2021.
Mustafa Ali vs. Elias vs. Ricochet vs. John Morrison (Winner is added to the US Championship match)
With Keith Lee not cleared to compete, this match started us off with the winner being added to the Lashley/Riddle match later tonight. As Retribution stalked the outside, all four men tried to get the pin. Alliances were formed and broken. Ricochet was targeted multiple times, but still managed to escape. Retribution saved Ali from one pin attempt, but could not stop Morrison from rolling him up for the win
Morrison beat the other three superstars to be added to the US Championship.
Smackdown Elimination Chamber (Winner will face Roman Reigns)
Daniel Bryan and Cesaro started the match. They were joined by Baron Corbin, followed by Sami Zayn. Cesaro made Corbin tap out right before Kevin Owens joined the match. Jey Uso entered last. Owens eliminated Sami after a Stunner. Jey managed to pin Owens after trapping his arm in the chamber door. Jey eliminated Cesaro after a splash. Jey tried a splash from the top of a pod, but Bryan got his knees up and then hit a running knee for the pin.
Bryan won the match and will face Reigns.
Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan for the Universal Championship.
Reigns came out as the Chamber was still being lifted. Bryan was able to put Reigns in the Yes Lock right off the bat, but Reigns got out. He was incensed and proceeded to pound Bryan into the mat before making him tap out. Edge came out of nowhere to spear Reigns and make his choice for WrestleMania clear.
Reigns made Bryan tap to retain the Universal Championship
Lashley vs. Riddle vs. Morrison for the US Championship.
I did not know that Morrison had never held the US Title. The rest of the Hurt Business was not at ringside, save for MVP All three men were fighting as if this title was the top prize in the company. Riddle always has fast paced moves, but Morrison was able to counter most of them. Lashley was all about his massive power advantage. Riddle used MVP’s crutch to take out Lashley and then hit Bro Derrick to pin Morrison for the title.
Riddle won the match to become the new US Champion
Sasha Banks and Bianca Belar vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
With the chance that Belar might challenge Banks for the title at WrestleMania, every move would be looked at for betrayal. Banks and Belar had a more complete skill set, but Jax and Baszler have been together longer and had more power. Banks and Belar had a few mistakes, but still managed to come close to winning. An ill timed appearance by Reginald led Banks to be hit with a Samoan Drop by Jax for the win
Jax and Baszler beat Banks and Belar to remain the Tag Team Champions.
Raw Elimination Chamber for the WWE Champion.
Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton would start us off. Drew McIntyre came out next, followed by Kingston. Kingston got a quick elimination on Orton, who RKO everyone in sight. Omos let AJ out early to enter the match. Omos was tossed from ringside moments later. Sheamus entered last and he and McIntyre went right after each other. A Brogue Kick from Sheamus eliminated Kingston. McIntyre eliminated Hardy with a Claymore. Styles eliminated Sheamus. Mcintyre hit a Claymore on a flying Styles to win. Lashley attacked Mcintyre after the match.
McIntyre won the match to remain the WWE Champion
Miz cashed in the Money and the Bank and pinned McIntyre to become the WWE Champion.
Match of the Night
Smackdown Elmination : No frills here, just six men at the top of their game. Cesaro was especally good.
