Gaming as a service has become both a blessing and a curse during this past generation. While some games don’t hinder the overall experience with the point of squeezing every last penny out of the consumer, others are actually made with that greedy purpose in mind. WB Games is no stranger to free-to-play and games as a service experience; implementing such methods in their full console releases like, most recently, “Mortal Kombat 11”. Thankfully, the gameplay itself in regards to those WB Games has been stellar – the minds behind “MultiVersus” look to keep that trait alive. A platform brawler in the same vein as “Super Smash Bros.”, “MultiVersus” brings together characters from multiple Warner Bros. properties to do battle in various ways while rewarding the player in-game currency, character skins, and profile customization options aplenty. Break those level barriers, charge up almost every attack, and watch out for those ACME items while getting these first impressions of “MultiVersus”.
